"Today marks the tipping point showing that the end of the crime of child marriage is inevitable and imminent. Now is the time for governments to provide decisive leadership to end child marriage by 2030." #IntlDayAgainstChildMarriage

India showed the way. Today, 27 November has become the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. A proud moment for everyone across government, civil society and communities working to end #ChildMarriage. @Bhuwan_Ribhu
With the United Nations @UN passing the resolution by consensus, establishing #27November as the #InternationalDayAgainstChildMarriage, my first gratitude is to the children.
This Day belongs first to the children and survivors whose courage gave this movement its purpose, and whose dreams now define our responsibility. This Day is our promise to them: that their childhood will be protected, their dreams will not be stolen, and we will not stop until we create a #ChildMarriageFreeWorld.
They are the reason we began. They are the reason we must finish what we started. @JustRightsIntl@JustRightsIndia@JRCNepal
As we await the tabling of the resolution before the United Nations General Assembly to establish #27November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage, I am conscious that we are standing at the threshold of a historic moment.
The question now is not whether we know what must be done. The question is whether we will act together, with the urgency and resolve our children deserve. @un@JustRightsIndia@JustRightsIntl@worldjurist@JRCNepal@CMFreeWorld #UNGA

Child marriage is not a tradition—it is the theft of childhood.
It takes away a child’s education, dreams, freedom, and right to choose their future.
No child should be forced into marriage. No child should be denied their childhood.

I am proud that the campaign "Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat" started by @JustRightsIndia has reached a historic point to be considered for dedicating an International Day against the issue on 27 November 2026 by the United Nations. Proud of you Sir @Bhuwan_Ribhu#BalVivahMuktBharat
Landed in #NewYork.
I come here carrying the hopes, prayers and determination of millions who believe that no child should ever be married.
On 4 September, the United Nations @UN will consider the resolution to designate 27 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage.
What began as a call for a #ChildMarriageFreeWorld is now before the world.
The next few days are about every child’s right to freedom, dignity and a future where they can realise their full potential.
“The transformative changes we’ve seen in the protection and promotion of #childrights over the past two years are a direct result of the dedication and efforts of civil society organizations like yours. You are the real heroes — the true agents of change. You work on the ground, you understand the lived realities.
That’s why, if there are gaps in the law or challenges in its implementation, don’t hesitate to share your insights. We are committed to bringing your voices to the Parliament. On matters concerning children, all of us as Members of Parliament stand united. I encourage you to meet with your local #MP and share the challenges you're facing — they will raise your voice.
At this moment, the most urgent need is to track children's education, especially that of girls. As long as they remain in school, their risk of being trafficked or married significantly decreases.”
