Today is my son's off and me and my husband both are going to bank. We had to drop him at relatives because the day care and school is off.

I’m genuinely impressed by the way bankers are raising their voice for a five day work week.
I believe their efforts can benefit not just their sector, but eventually help establish the same standard across other industries as well.
A five day work week is the global norm for a reason: productivity, health and long term sustainability matter more than simply counting hours.
What’s exhausting is watching Indians attack each other over whether people should work 70 or even 100 hours a week, instead of asking the only question that actually matters: Does the extra time produce more output? More hours do not automatically mean more work. Beyond a certain point, productivity flattens and can decline, while fatigue, errors and burnout increase.
Analyse the system. Measure the output. Don’t just shout at each other about who should work more. #FiveDaysWorkWeek #ThankYouBankers #YouWillGetIt #OthersWillGetIt #ThisIsTheRightThing

Why ICICI and HDFC are not participating in Bank strike?
SBI will open on Sunday, but closed on Monday to Wednesday.
Whereas, ICICI and HDFC be closed on Sunday and open for the week.

Bankers are demanding five days work week.. and the system is still not listening. This is the story of why they must.
In memory of my dear friend, Durgesh Ranjan, 40, Branch Manager, of a PSB somewhere in Rural North India.
The last time we spoke, his voice was tired but glowing. He told me about the PMJJBY loans he had disbursed to the needy, how the villagers treated him like their own elder, how he called his job his life's purpose.
"Through this chair, this stamp, these papers, I get to do good for society," he said. He meant every word. He always did.
On the night of 24th September, Durgesh was found dead in his car on the Lucknow–Varanasi highway. Police recovered a letter he left behind.
The letter said: "I am ending my life myself. No one should be blamed for this. I apologise to everyone."
Even in his final moments, he was apologising. The kindest people always do.
His wife, told police he had been under stress for about a week. One week of visible stress, and behind it, years of invisible weight. A branch manager's chair in a PSB today carries impossible targets, endless audits, relentless calls, seven days of duty disguised as a job.
Durgesh never complained. Not once. He carried it all quietly, completely, alone.
He didn't fall because he was weak. He fell because he was asked to be strong every single day, without rest, without pause, without anyone saying: "Enough. Go home. Live your life."
A five-day work week is not a luxury. It is not laziness. It is not entitlement.
It is oxygen. The villagers didn't respect Durgesh because he worked seven days. They respected him because he was kind, patient, and present. A banker who has rested can serve with heart. Bankers hold entire communities together, but who holds the bankers?
Nearly 90 bank employee deaths and suicides have been reported since 2014. Durgesh is no longer just a statistic to us. He was a friend. A son. A husband. A man who helped forty-seven families sleep peacefully while his own sleep was stolen by files and targets.
No more Durgesh Ranjans. No more families shattered by a system that keeps asking for more. No public sector bank employee should ever suffer this fate again.
Five days of work. Two days of life. They deserve it. *He deserved it.
Rest in peace, brother. You should still be sitting behind that counter, laughing with your villagers, calling me at midnight about the forty-eighth family you helped.
We will keep telling your story until the rules finally change. 🙏

See how these social media posts from bank’s handles united all bankers.
