Fun fact: My JD thesis was about #sharenting and children's privacy. Perhaps an odd choice for someone who is child-free, but very important and concerning nonetheless, especially in highly paternalistic societies.

If you have kids (or take care of kids), it is a bad idea to document their lives on social media. This behavior is called sharenting, and it can have negative consequences for the child.

Update: @PSAgovph responded! While I appreciate the reply, it does seem that printing on ordinary paper (from which multiple copies can be made) did not raise potential identity theft issues.🤔

In response to the much-delayed delivery of national IDs, @PSAgovph announced that "printable" copies would be made available. Registrants can set appointments to request and personally claim the printouts from PSA while waiting for the delivery of the ID. 1/3

What controls were put in place when the #ePhilID process was designed? Did PSA conduct a PIA for the deviations from the Philippine ID System Act and IRR?

So, I asked. I went the DPO route. Might try the FOI route, too. Hope I'll get a response beyond an acknowledgement. 🤞🏼

@docligot URLs can help facilitate UX.

Also, Globe is only blocking URLs in P2P SMS, not A2P SMS from legitimate senders, so Amazon notifications containing URLs should still go through.

Note that the NTC memorandum only directs telcos to block URLs from "malicious sites". But @enjoyGLOBE will effectively block all P2P messages containing any URL (whether malicious or not). This is an instance of generalizing a precondition + adopting a higher standard of care.

NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW: Globe has started blocking ALL person-to-person text messages containing clickable links. This is an unprecedented measure to fight spam and scam SMS; covers all SMS incoming to Globe from all networks.

Context: #Shopee, a popular e-commerce platform, is facing boycotts for its choice of endorser (esp. after its massive layoffs). Users now want to deprive it not just of their business but also data.
