@JACortez22@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod ...and when we feel like loosing our passion, maybe we should find time to pause and discover ways to rekindle our passion.
@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod Casas said that knowing what's in you gives you a sense of purpose and knowing your purpose gives you the strength to face your struggles. There's nothing more exhausting than leading and working aimlessly. Just imagine a rat on a wheel. #noelliveyourexcellence
@bailey_h19@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod I was impressed with the result of their spelling quiz last Fri I am not sure if I can attribute it to the sensory bags yet. On Mon, we sprayed the shaving cream on their desks and kids traced the words on the cream. They had so much fun and their desks smelled good after. :-)
@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod Casas is on point when he said, when we gossip, it actually says more about us than the people we are gossiping about. I'd follow his suggestion on maintaining integrity by never repeating to others what was shared with me. #noelliveyourexcellence
@JennieChavez15 My para was once assisting a student. I saw her used a strategy which I thought was really effective. I started using the same to acknowledge and validate her method. #noelliveyourexcellence
@JennieChavez15 One of my students shared that he wanted to be an actor. I told him actors have to read and memorize script. He is a struggling reader so I told him we will practice reading regularly and intensively to help him become a better reader. #noelliveyourexcellence
@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod I believe in the importance of self-assessment. After dealing with misbehavior, I usually reflect on whether I handled it right, did my response cause an even more explosive behavior, or was I able to help the student find the right technique to calm down.
@JennieChavez15@Raquel_L_Rod When my students are struggling with schoolwork, they show frustration and express they want to give up on their assignment, I don't only give them words of encouragement but I also offer them scaffolding and necessary accommodation to help them succeed. #noelliveyourexcellence
@Melissa35499683@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 Agree. Sometimes, I am too in a hurry to start and finish my instruction that I tend to forget to be intentional on checking on my students.
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 Most of my students struggle with displaying appropriate social skills such as using kinds words and gentle tone. I model this behavior by showing them how I gently respond to emotional outburst and explosive behavior in class. #noelliveyourexcellence
@Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 I can be intentional by listening to my students intently whenever they share their stories and assuring them that I am genuinely interested whenever they share their thoughts, experiences, and ideas.
@RachelGalvan15 @Raquel_L_Rod@JennieChavez15 Agree. We sometimes fail to realize this. That our interaction with or students, whether positive or negative can make a huge impact on them. #noelliveyourexcellence
@Gue2Martinez@Raquel_L_Rod Yes, this is true. We are guilty of this as teachers, we deal with students' problem with our point of view and with our pre-conceived judgement.
@aileen_pitt@JennieChavez15 I agree. The keyword is "gladly". Students can tell if we are excited about interacting with them during non-academic contact time with them such as recess and lunch.
