When Britain was on its knees after the war, Attlee and Bevan took the commanding heights into public hands, built council houses at scale and created the NHS.
Security and dignity starved the demagogues of oxygen. Austerity and privatisation reopened the wound.

The only thing that ends the cycle is giving ordinary people real power again. Public ownership of energy, water and rail, mass council housing, wages that actually rise.

I respect your loyalty over all those years, Marie. I am also a long time Labour voter (starting with the 1970 GE). We've seen a lot of Labour leaders, not all of them to everyone's taste, but I hold to the idea that the aims of the party are infinitely better than those of our right wing opponents.
It may go against the grain if you dislike the man or the means but let's not lose sight of the end....to keep the likes of the Tories and the even more right wing parties from power.
