Morning @myworcester there is a cow loose on the riverside footpath. Escaped from Chapter Meadows. Same one also was out on Tues and we managed to steer it back through the fence, but no luck today. ๐๐ฎ
@BikeWorcester@WorcShow Thank you providing the bike parking today. Great to have somewhere secure to leave them ๐๐๐
My daughter was well pleased with the free stickers โบ๏ธ
ยฃ1.7bn on a 2 mile stretch of road.
Vs
ยฃ330m for active travel for the entire country outside of London (recently cut from ยฃ700m+).
We really have to question cost-benefit analysis of transport investment.
Plus: Climate Change Act? Anyone?

Good start to a few days of bike touring. A @WestMidRailway train with a good bike space with a strap and everything! Not sure how many are on the train but it's a start. Puts @GWRHelp to shame anyway.
BREAKING: the White Cliffs of Dover have been illuminated with the UK 'warming stripes' for #ShowYourStripes day!
These stripes represent the UK average temperature from 1884 to 2022 with blue colours for colder years and red colours for hotter years.

@RealUdallVoice @WinstoneSmithJR@LouiseACPrice@BikeWorcester Talking about signage... Could the painting/signage for the 20mph zone on Oldbury Rd be renewed? That speed limit is largely ignored with cars bypassing the speed bumps by driving through the middle of them. This would be of much more of a safety benefit.
@WorcsBeer2023 Hi, what sort of outdoor space will you have this year with the change of location? Having all that grass for picnics and letting dogs/kids run about was one of the best things about the festival.
Spent a week cycling in the Netherlands. Incredible. Heard so much about how good it is, but experiencing it really opened my eyes to the possibilities and how bad it is to cycle in most UK cities/towns. Not looking forward to hitting the roads again back home @BikeWorcester
Why is individual action* on climate change and the destruction of nature so powerful and important?
Well, imagine yourself at a concert or party where you've had a couple of drinks, the music's getting good... but nobody's dancing

It's quite something that the world's top scientists put out a synthesis report that essentially says civilization as we know it will end unless the world comes together to stop rapidly expanding the fossil fuel industry but to instead rapidly end it, and almost no one cares
Fascinating evening listening to @MrMarkBeaumont. I came for the global adventures but left thinking about your local exploring with your daughter. As a (relatively) new dad it really resonated ๐
Heading to see @MrMarkBeaumont at Huntingdon Hall tonight. Anyone know if there's any bike parking at the venue?
@BikeWorcester@WorcsTheatres
I know I could use Crown Gate but am lazy! (Plus hoping to pop into @TripelbC before hand ๐ and it's in the other direction)
As I've done my last commute for 2022 I thought I'd check some stats...
I cycled just over 1,500 miles to work this year, saving circa 400kg CO2e compared to using my car.
But, as I would have traveled by train, I reckon I've saved close to ยฃ500.

The thing that interests me most about the Harry and Megan documentary is THE GOVERNMENT JUST APPROVED A NEW COAL MINE OFF THE BACK OF THE HOTTEST SUMMER EVER AND WHILE TELLING THE REST OF THE WORLD TO PHASE DOWN THE USE OF COAL AND IT CAN'T EVEN SEE WHY THAT'S A PROBLEM.
@robjc@BikeWorcester@theloudbloke@WorcsTravel They did grit the approaches to the Hams Way Footbridge when I asked last year after seeing two people stack it, but it wasn't done every time. Haven't been this week to see if it's been done though.
