Dylan Crews 2 Strike approach. The best hitters adjust pitch to pitch & to the game situation. First 2 strikes are for Dylan Crews to look to do damage & drive the baseball for extra bases. The 3rd is for the LSU Tigers. Spread out. Foot down early. Be on time. Refuse to K!!!
Your self talk is the most important conversation you have..
- "You got this, remember all those reps"
- "You're better than that, next time I got it"
- "One more rep, it'll be worth it"
- "Been here a million times, trust the work"
PROGRAM YOUR MIND TO HELP YOU, NOT HURT YOU
I got a lot of questions about the Jr Hack Attack settings. We have 2 at UAB. One is on regular legs and the other is on wheels. Placing the Jr Hacks at 40 ft gave us the best velocity equivalencies. Here is what @parkercurry2 and I found 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
🧵 Coach Curry and I ran a study last year on trackman. We were trying to figure out how to make offensive practice more game like. Not just velo but also, the way the ball approaches the zone (AA). Here's what we found:
Texas Rangers MLB Hitting Coach, Tim Hyers, discusses the High Tee Drill and how it helps hitters create a direct swing path needed to consistently handle velocity, with high spin, at the top of the zone. Great hitters know there is big risk involved in creating unnecessary length and depth on the backside of the swing. This is especially true when facing pitchers who throw with superior velocity at top of the zone. Take a listen.
Some keys to help read RHP’s when you are stealing.
