➡ How to implement new asset recovery laws effectively?

🗣 One crucial aspect is to allow specialised prosecutors to share experiences and discuss how to harmonise practice across a jurisdiction.

🇵🇪 That's the purpose of this national meeting of prosecutors specialised in Extinción de dominio, Peru's non-conviction based forfeiture law.

🗓 The event was organised by our @Programa_GFP with the support of @SECO_CH as part of our long-term assistance in implementing the law and recovering assets for the benefit of the Peruvian people.

💬 In the words of Paul Garnier, @EmbSuizaPeru, "the recovery of embezzled public assets is one of the most important issues in the political and economic agendas of the countries in the region".

✅ And these are the kinds of events and interventions that help countries to do that.

🇦🇺 Australia will soon overhaul its foreign bribery laws to enhance enforcement and compliance.

A guest blog from Arizona State University law student Ryan Carter explains how the reforms address long-standing concerns expressed by the OECD Working Group on Bribery and civil society.

The reforms draw on successful changes made in the UK in 2010, and are an encouraging step in the right direction.
