Started up little exchange basket position $ICE $CBOE $MIAX $CME didn't get too aggressive on positioning, leaving some room to size up later if the opportunity presents itself.
@Mr_Neutral_Man@RudisRowley Agree on first point, I walked around ~15ish over generally. (35 is quite the pull though!) but these guys were 133/149 last season before Kaleb moved up to 157. When is the last time we saw a 149-174 move in a single season?
not just lies, but batshit crazy lies. Whoever thought we would have an HHS Secretary whose main mission is to bring back measles, polio, and probably even smallpox.
It’s interesting to see the type of investor one naturally gravitates towards, whenever I listen to Bob Robotti speak about investing it resonates deeply.
@Mr_Neutral_Man Sets up an interesting final. I think osu wins with bonus being the difference. okie vs Iowa one of the better duals I’ve seen. Reminded me a little of their 2017 dual where Kaid Brock upset Cory Clark, so many wild matches.
It's sad that both parties have essentially given up on K-12 schools. Ed Secretaries Duncan (Obama) and DeVos (Trump 1) both had very active agendas, regardless of your view of them. Can you even name the Sec of Ed under Biden or Trump 2, let alone their agendas?
The GOP platform at federal level is to eliminate the Dept of Ed. The state level is mostly just ESAs, encouraging kids to go around K-12 and charters. Both levels have given up.
National Dems don't have a K-12 agenda besides more funding for everything. The state/local platform is increasingly to cede control. The Chicago mayor supported a state bill to transition from mayoral control to an elected board. Now Mamdani wants to do the same and punt it to a co-governance model, whatever that means. Dem mayors and govs increasingly don't want the responsibility.
Of the few exceptions, the most notable is Texas. The Commissioner of Ed in the state took over Houston ISD, replacing an elected school board with a state-appointed board of managers after years of declining performance. In the subsequent 2+ years, HISD has shown very large gains in performance. The state took over 2 more districts in 2025.
There is a lot of criticism about these takeovers, but at least TX policymakers are running to the problems and not away from them. Improving K-12 is perhaps the hardest, and most important, challenge government has. Policymakers aren't going to improve the system by hoping someone else does so.
