I’m not ashamed of my mental illness. But I am ashamed of those that feel the need to judge people without knowledge.
I am ashamed of those who spread hatred instead of love.
Mental illness is not a choice.
But kindness is.

I met Sara 2 yrs ago at my first T1D conference. Sara was the first pwd I’d ever heard speak about eating disorder recovery. I asked her a question from the audience & was so scared I could barely get my words out. Sharing our stories together tonight was incredible 💙 #gbdoc
whenever I relapse back into self harm, people close to me always complain about how disappointed they are that I’ve gone back down that path, but they don’t understand that with recovery with an addiction for harming myself, I have to choose that everyday

Unpopular opinion: Unaffordable insulin is a more urgent issue than surprise medical bills. Both are unjust & unnecessary. But w/ med bills, you’ve received the care & your finances are at risk. With unaffordable insulin, you pay or you don’t get the RX and without it you die.
Ok so I want to love @dexcom G6...but we have yet to have one sensor last a week. They are supposed to last 10 days. Tech should work the way it is supposed to. We deal with enough already. #T1D#TechFail#WeDeserveBetter
I donkt know how all you t1’s do it. I have a hard enough time picking out which underwear I’m going to put on. It would be nice to take away some of the harder decisions- food or insulin, rent or insulin, utilities or insulin. Ugh #insulin4all
We need to wash out corporate influence by flooding our elections with small donors. $100 Democracy Dollars for all will do it, enabling us to overturn Citizens United and conquer challenges like climate change + the 4th Industrial Revolution. #DemDebate

Tonight we’ll see 12 people agree that we must:
Fix health care
End gun violence
Protect the planet
Stop hate

Restore the world’s trust
It’s not that the differences don’t matter, it’s that the common ground matters more. #DemDebate
“I have edited some of our finest foreign correspondents, run The Times over the weekend, and, since 2016, overseen coverage of the country.” Meet Marc Lacey, The New York Times national editor who is moderating the Democratic debate.

Walmart whataboutism, brought to you by the assholes at @novonordisk. Note this “option” is only for US patients while every other country on Earth pays less for analogue insulin than Americans have to pay for obsolete Walmart insulin. Fuck. You. @PhRMA.
