So, I keep hearing #exjw say that she can do this kind of stuff because she donates a lot of money. I’m absolutely not convinced. The org is just afraid of doing anything to JW celebrities because they know they risk lots of negative publicity.
Luke Evans: “It was 9am on Saturday, and, while most children my age were at home watching Going Live!, I was dressed in a suit and tie, knocking doors in a village up the valley with my parents and other Jehovah’s Witnesses to spread the word.”https://t.co/7yZSK6fqug
@LivHappy5@Larchwood20 GB already restrict intimate personal freedoms for all, including masturbation. There is a live case study of challenged faith with doctrine changes now to follow/discuss. Speculation on sisters personal choices en masse (without a lens for discussion) is just speculation
@apostatebarbie@Larchwood20 I did not call them a sexist - I said the question was. I assume it was asked in good faith and so I replied. I believe my point stands and it was only intended to move dialogue to how WT alters a sisters’ experience with makeup (another commenter provided scriptural proof)
@Larchwood20 Yes so, again, it would be down to personal choice/“strength of faith”. The more interesting aspect to think about is the (mostly perceived) differences in motivation for sisters vs. worldly AFAB people to wear makeup when makeup has been pushed by patriarchy
@Larchwood20 What you’re really asking is “do sisters (women) love makeup more than Jehovah?” which implies they’re more fickle in their faith and suggests the inferiority of thought that the organisation has already rammed down their throats.
@Larchwood20 You pose an interesting question but it’s a sexist one at its core. The answer is obviously individual to each sister and their relationship to the organisation but, by asking, the only answers you will receive are sweeping generalisations about sisters and their love of makeup.

Just before Christmas, the abortion Minister - who, frankly, should be better informed - tweeted about a woman arrested in Birmingham for 'silently praying'. This was in a buffer zone around a @BPAS1968 clinic. Let me tell you about her group and what's really going on. (1/9) 🧵
