@God_loves_women So I'm sorry to tell you all this in such an impersonal way, but you seem very engaged in the debate. In my experience, this is quite rare as in general leaders & Christians in general are busy fighting a tide of negativity. The right answer is just 'be better' as you have said.

@God_loves_women Is still cripling & always begs the question what do I want people to do about it now? Even agencies I did eventually get help from said they got money from the source that I believe the harassment originated from. Also, I am just one person, and I have a testimony but no proof!

@God_loves_women yet many people I tarred with the same brush had no idea (there were literally dozens and dozens of people harassing me, and I assumed everybody knew) I didn't find this out till later, but approaching individuals to discuss this awful shame which led to the death of my career...

@God_loves_women In my case everyone I went to for help was in leauge, police, chief social worker, local schools (including both my former schools in the area), mental health professionals (I had dangerous paranoia 😅) question mark former employer, the list goes on...

@God_loves_women It's almost comical that there are so many faculties set up to care for church buildings and so few safeguarding processes to care for her people. And heaven help you if you go to a church off-grid...

@God_loves_women The whole situation around the details of the abuse - being tempted but not actually sinning, was likely to have been planned, unfortunately, and not just a 'bad habit.' I agree with you, we need to provide training to individuals about what to do when they feel threatened.

@God_loves_women In my faith, I'm often sorry to be the lone wolf but it was perfectly obvious MP was at the very least rude and demeaning to his staff. People laughed because it eased the tension young people may feel about trying to be perfect in a world they are constantly told is full of sin.

@God_loves_women Therefore the examples from the gospels reveal a God of love, whereas risking further victims of harassment reveals a church of stupidity. Obviously, free will is what it is, but surely caution & safeguards are advised. I wonder what could practically be done preventatively tho?

@God_loves_women Also, the criminal who hung next to Jesus posed no actual risk to anyone at that time, only a risk of reputational damage to Jesus's ministry. Examples like St Paul were likewise logical as the reason for persecuting Christians was removed. persecution

@God_loves_women I appreciate we all get clean starts however I agree with you that one celebrity shouldn't be treated as if they have superior sanctity and that this could give them a further means to exploit women. I wish Christians had more common sense at times.
