Not Friday

A little late, but still, one of those Letters I Never Sent.

This Friday was a mess.
Fever had me half-human, half-blanket
but life doesn’t exactly wait for your temperature to drop, does it?

Meetings still happened.
With half-open eyes,
I nodded, spoke, listened,
pretended to function like the adult
I’m supposed to be.

But hey, I was still active on X.
Now that I think of it, that probably sounds suspicious to you 🤭
The guy who scrolls endlessly through a blue app but forgets to write to the one he never misses.
Sorry for that. Truly.

This week wasn’t eventful.
No big wins.
No chaos either.
Everything went smoothly, and somehow that felt strange.
Like I was moving, but not arriving anywhere.

Do you get what I mean?
You used to. Always.

I had planned to work on the book again pick up where I left off.
Six years is a long pause.
Trying to start from the middle feels like opening a book you used to love,
only to realize the story doesn’t wait for you.
The characters keep aging
even if you don’t turn the pages.

But I’ll try.
Because some stories aren’t written for completion.They’re written so we don’t forget the parts of ourselves that once believed. And you were always the part that believed.

I’ve been noticing some strange activity lately. A few people lurking,
watching too closely.
Not saying much,
just observing.
Not sure what they’re hoping to find.
But they’re harmless, so I’ll let them stay.
Maybe they’re just lost souls too,
like me.

Anyway.
I missed you this week.
But then again, when do I not? 🤪
I think the missing has become such a constant that even my silence carries your name.

I hope you’re doing well
wherever you are, in whatever sky you’re hiding beneath.
