Terribly sad news this morning that my old friend and colleague James Valentine passed away. I produced James for a number of years on our ABC show The Mix. Making the show with James was more intense play than work. I'll miss you James, and remember fondly all the fun we had.

There is a deep-held belief that El Nino means a dry summer.... data below from The BOM shows that this is very often not the case - over 14 separate El Nino events, rain has been close to average over large parts of the nation. El Nino isn't a 'Magic' that turns the taps off.
