Seems to be an increased nutrition focus around the tour this year, with one constant message, it’s carbohydrate for the win ⛽️

On Rest day 1 reviewing stages 1 - 9:
Average daily CHO intake = 13.1g/kg/day
With a range of 6.8 to 18g/kg/day
This really highlights how easy it can be to over or under fuel individual days.

A similar phenomenon is often seen with the training-nutrition relationship. Hours of hammering the body with very little nutrition planning to support.
Group exercise classes (Peloton, Soul cycle, orange theory) tend to have the everyday person train too hard.
Why? People judge the value of the workout based on their effort. Sweat and work hard= good workout
Most training should be pretty comfortable, but easy doesn't sell.
If we flip this..at what point should a nutritionist provide S&C advice? IMO almost never, 95% are not qualified & never studied it. Solution...restructure budgets to employ a nutritionist to do the job they are trained to do & provide athletes with qualified nutrition support
I've been meaning to guest on Yorkshire Grit for a while.
This podcast gets very heavy 3/4 of the way through but ends on the positives, something I don't always get a chance to talk about but its a crucially important part of my story.

For so long, so many thought it was impossible, but @EliudKipchoge becomes the first human to run a sub two-hour marathon.

The solitude of endurance sports summarised perfectly. The physical and mental. The positives and negatives. The why is more important than the what 🚴♂️🏃♂️
Sometimes “going training” is just an excuse to spend some time alone contemplating life, the universe, and everything.
On a good day it’s almost meditative.
On a not so good day, the worries go round & round like a laundry spinner... but it’s a chance… https://t.co/C5iVkcexrX
It's a shame that things like this have to be pointed out and isn't the norm. Drives me mad when people are throwing rubbish! If it comes out your pocket it can easily go back in! Thanks for all the kind words none the less 🤗
