What an excellent morning for regional journalism 👏
So here's your reminder that 265 local newspapers have closed since 2005.
The first paper I worked on no longer exists.
The first newsroom I worked in is now the size of the desk I worked on.

Some exciting news - I’ve gone freelance! If you’re a charity or NGO looking for support with strategy, programmes or partnerships, get in touch.

They want the world to know what a beautiful, talented, happy girl she was. They never want this to happen to another kid.
Boris Johnson: "it was only right to say goodbye to colleagues who were leaving"
My aunt Joyce, on a borrowed phone in ICU: "David, I'm scared, I don't want to die, I've so much living left to do"

The next day she died.
