@Onepeg Fair. Any OG player who's been there since at least D2 year 1 knows of the issues and bungies poor responses to things, i remember reading a lot of these articles at the time. Its mostly the assertion that d2 was never profitable that is asinine. After final shape it wasn't, yes
@Onepeg No one has seen the full Financials except bungie and Sony execs. The Activision data that has been released shows d2 raking in a shitload. Reality is bungie abandoned d2 and the players abandoned it. Not the other way around. Make good content -> people play your game. Simple
@Onepeg Watched the whole thing. You proved nothing. This timeline was known for a long time, and your "sources" were Paul tassi and other journalists. A few articles here and there
Destiny 2 died because bungie stopped giving a shit. They will repeat the same mistakes with marathon.
@Onepeg All of this contributed. Pulling D2 devs (including pvp and most likely RAD devs) over to marathon contributed. I understand you are some marathon fan boy but it just is what it is. None of this will matter when bungie eventually shuts down or lays off 90% of their workforce
@DivideGaming21 This is a dumb argument. Sedge and DP were some of the hardest raids and engagement fell way off. The real reason was vaulting, dogshit campaigns, and splitting endgame playerbase and catering to speedrunners / streamers
@vesseloftauceti@DirtyEffinHippy The good news is we will find out very shortly. Maybe within 6 months.
But yes good luck to you. Bungie killed my game, and im sure they will do the very best they can with yours.
@vesseloftauceti@DirtyEffinHippy If they reduce the amount of devs down maybe 100, the math starts working. Otherwise.... its grim. 400 devs is 6,000,000 a month. Even if we assume 200,000 daily active players, every single one of them would have to spend $30. It just doesn't work out
@vesseloftauceti@DirtyEffinHippy Yeah, mad cope. There were 400 devs on marathon. Doing simple napkin math will show its not sustainable. Once you reduce the amount of devs to around 100 it has a chance at being viable assuming the small playerbase buys a lot of skins.
