@inverseflorida As I said, the point of the episode is that Hank was, as he frequently is in the show, outside of that environment for the sake of comedy. If Arlen went hard for Trump then he still wouldn’t be because the nature of his character as a comedic device is to be contrary to others.
Yeah I’m against degrowth. My suggestion for climate change? Hope someone events a magic box that will de-acidify and cool down all of earth’s oceans. Bonus points if it’s also a beautiful robot I can marry.
@JeremiahDJohns Because local reduction of resources is nothing compared to national efforts to slow climate change, dipshit. How many times do you have to be shown pictures of one bus replacing 40 cars before it sinks in?
@smilerz91@AlecStapp Right, so I have no idea what you’re trying to say here. That people will destroy property before they see it sold? I guess that makes as much sense as not renting a vacant unit.
@smilerz91@AlecStapp I guess they can do what they want with their one property, but if you want to talk about assumptions I do think it’s more odd to assume landlords will take hammers to their own walls but builders will stop building.
@smilerz91@PaulAnd52959567@AlecStapp I apologize for assuming you meant centrally planned, a core tenet of a planned economy, as shorthand for planned economy itself. The points you’ve been making did not give the impression you would care about the difference.
@smilerz91@AlecStapp A) Are you suggesting that…landlords would…smash houses together?
B) Sellers famously having no control over their own prices.
C) I am beginning to understand that stuff you were saying about how a single regulation means an economy can be considered “planned” now.
@PaulAnd52959567@smilerz91@AlecStapp The point was that the insistence that a single government payout, tax, regulation or any kind of alteration someone could name to a sector does not make a planned economy. The words “planned economy”convey an actual concept.
@smilerz91@AlecStapp A) Okay, then house do exist when they are rented and don’t exist when they are bought. Paradoxically it does work both ways.
B) If they want their building to be profitable they should charge money for their building?
C) I tried but what you said is crazy so…
@smilerz91@AlecStapp A) And?
B) The incentives for builders to build is that they receive money when they build things.
C) Are you saying all crime is government induced?
