@SolutionTree and @mikemattos65 truth bomb for the day! ALL kids need access to on grade level instruction during core instruction time. Not just the on grade level kids, ALL kids! Kids should have access to every tier based on their need of support. #CovidSlide
This is one of the most disturbing, uninformed, and un-American statements I've ever seen a Superintendent make. I sincerely hope state colleagues can talk him out of the the educational and civic desert in which he's walking. The harm that would come from such policies would be almost unrecoverable, and it's all so unnecessary for the people of Oklahoma. We should expect much more from those leading public schooling. And yeah, I know, I'm living in Virginia, and we have our own challenges, but hoo-wee, this statement from Walters is supremely unaware and hurtful to many.
“If you can’t work with staff w/ different personalities in your building bc of how they vote, what they like, etc, how can we expect our football player to work in a group with our band kid?”
We all have something in common; we’re educating kids.

@Taylor_Upchurch@vperezy If you can copy your names over to a Google Sheet try using the Autocrat extension. You can set it up to export as a Google Slide or PDF, along with single output (1 presentation) or multiple outputs.
Who we have in the room with us has a lot to do with what we choose to do before they show up.
You want students?
Plan & teach content like we have been.
You want learners?
Design opportunities for them to be learners in the room you facilitate.
It starts with our choices.
My school has an amazing soccer program, but some of our Bomber athletes need help getting equipment to really shine. We are currently looking for new or gently used soccer cleat donations to help our Bombers fly. If you can help, please let me know. #bomberway
"middle school students who solved a dozen math problems spread out across three weeks scored 21 percentage points higher on a follow-up math test than students who solved all 12 problems on the same day."

He just wanted the neighbors to stop dumping garbage on mountain habitat so they body-shamed him?????????????? SMH. The Grinch is a conservation baddie, put some respect on his name WHOVILLE.
When expectations for the individual(s) decrease, but expectations for the organization increase, you will have systemic dysfunction and blame often placed in the wrong places. #oklaed
What are you doing in June besides rejuvenating yourself? Why not add some joy, fun and laughter. NB -Never Boring Conference returns to Stillwater. You will love it! June 22-23.
This is a visual representation of the RTI/MTSS pyramid. When your school has effective interventions in place at all 3 tiers of the pyramid, all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Under Stitt’s failed leadership, the way of life many Oklahomans hold dear is under attack. From vouchers to delaying drought relief, rural communities can’t sustain four more years of his callousness.
I used to think the volume of the classroom dictated the quality of the teacher. I now know learning can be loud and can be messy. Loud classrooms aren’t necessarily managed poorly and quiet ones don’t always indicate learning is happening.
Kid scores 100% on a retest... Only given a 70%. For what possible justification do we put scores in the gradebook that do not match what a student knows?
There is no average time to learn something. Punishing students for taking longer to learn something seems archaic
I’m more convinced than ever… that a friendly smile and genuine greeting to the students we encounter during the day, is more meaningful than most of us realize. It doesn’t take much to inject some positivity into a kid’s day.
