THIS IS VERY CONCERNING.
Anthropic just called for a global pause in AI development, warning that AI is getting close to improving itself without human help.
In April 2026, Claude ran a full AI research project completely on its own. Humans picked the topic. Claude came up with every experiment, ran every test, and delivered the results.
Two human researchers spent a full week on the same problem and got 23% of the way there.
Claude got 97%.
Claude Mythos Preview is now 52x faster than a skilled human at improving AI training code. The same task takes a human 4 to 8 hours. Claude does it better.
Claude already writes 80% of Anthropic's own code. Their engineers are getting 8x more work done than in 2024, not because they work harder, but because Claude does most of it.
In March 2024, Claude could handle a 4 minute task on its own. Today it handles 12 hour tasks. That number doubles every 4 months. Week long tasks are expected by 2027.
Anthropic warns once AI can build and improve its own next version without any human help, nobody knows how fast things move after that or if humans will still be able to control it.
What happened to Massie's "accuser"?
Hell of a vanishing act, like Blasey Ford.
Poof! Gone.
Sure Platner's Heritage ZioCon "Republican" activist accuser with parents settling the West Bank will pull the same amazing trick.
If this playbook seems similar to leftists, it should. They ARE leftists and many of you are acting just like them.
That's called hypocrisy.
It's beyond obvious now that The Senate cannot allow The SAVE ACT to advance even if 100% of American voters (instead of just 80-85%) approve of it BECAUSE many in Congress are NOT elected - they are installed. Anything preventing this crime cannot be approved @ScottPresler@BasedMikeLee
@WallStreetMav The point is to become an intellectually well rounded person (as in educated...). I got a stem degree, appreciated my ballroom dance class, and got credits for a 2 semester internship. I like that I can tango now.
What bothers me the most about the Nowak case is how he had no chance. He was stabbed, and in other cases maybe he would have received assistance, maybe the perpetrator would have run away and then people would have helped, an ambulance would have come.
But he wasn't just stabbed. Then a systematic process began. The knife was hidden by a family member. A second family member made the call to police and lied. This set in motion the police response which judged Nowak the perpetrator without interviewing him or anyone. He was cuffed and couldn't even speak as he was cautioned that he was arrested.
It wasn't just the police response, it was that he lay wounded and dying and those around him were all a family, involved in hiding the weapon, lying to police and telling police when they arrived that Nowak wasn't stabbed.
The whole system was against him, in his own country he was completely alone, surrounded, with no chance to survive. From the moment the perpetrator decided to stab him, he had no chance. The entire system worked against him.
And when you see the video of the perpetrator and family, they act like this is a completely normal day...like they would just walk away and it was fine. No sense of shock, no sense of shame.
The simple fact of this case is that the police thought Henry Nowak was a racist and that meant that they did not feel obligated to extend to him any form of human decency
They killed him because someone accused him of racism
"You are not likely to see Henry Nowak’s words stenciled on a mural. No corporation will change its logo. The same establishment that made a few words immortal when spoken by a black man in Minneapolis has met the same words, spoken by a white boy dying on a British street, with what can only be described as a determined, institutional silence. That silence is not neutral. It is a statement. It tells you exactly whose suffering the system has decided counts, and whose does not."
Went to vote today for the California primaries
The guy next to me called over an election worker because his ballot didn't include the LA mayoral race
The worker checked and told him it was because his registered address was in Malibu, which is outside the City of LA
The guy then asked if he could provide another address
To my surprise, the answer was yes
So he gave the worker an LA address, they voided his previous ballot, issued a new one, and suddenly he was able to vote for the mayor of LA
How is voter ID not mandatory in all 50 states?
I found out an acquaintance of mine was planning to do a not insignificant layoff of American workers at his company, so I asked him why he was doing it. Asked him if he had thought about the American families he's going to devastate when he delivers the news. And all for such a small amount of money in the grand scheme of things.
He looked like I hit him with a sledgehammer. Clearly had not thought about it once. The board told him there would be a significant structural contraction in the VC market and he would need to get creative on the budget side of things. The indian VC recommended he outsource to india and lay off a decent chunk of his American coder base. He would get the CEO in touch with a firm he trusts. The CEO was going to follow that suggestion.
In order to understand the sheer level of cruelty of some of these CEOs you have to understand that they literally operate inside of a cult like environment. For every independent thinking Founder like Elon there is 100 NPC retards who are the worst people you will ever meet. The entire industry has been transformed into a weird third world scam culture in a lot of ways.
And when you're a first time CEO and a VC makes a suggestion like that, most of these people will follow it without thinking twice. You might as well be talking to a robot.
Luckily I had a good relationship with this guy and outlined the actual risk of outsourcing your team to india and he changed course.
But it got me thinking why would an indian VC meddle like this, it's not really common for VCs to get involved in hiring and firing decisions for lower level employees and the amount of money saved wasn't significant enough for a VC to care.
What I later found out was that there is significant overseas pressure from the indian government for these big indian names in Silicon Valley to push business away from America and into india. It's a racket. A racket designed to scam Americans out of jobs so that indian politicians can brag to their voters that they are putting indians first. If millions of American families suffer it's fine. No one has ever mentioned it from our government. Not Trump, not Biden, not Obama, not Bush. No one.
"God said in the book of Joel, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh.” Not just the young, the old, the middle-aged. The boomers, but not the millennials, not Gen Z. No, God’s Spirit is poured out on every age. He went on to say, “Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.” God was showing us how both the young and the old are important. We will accomplish more together than we will apart.
Steve over the target dropping the payload.
No Republican voter/donor should give to the NRSC.
Just donate to the campaigns and their PACs for the people you like. They will misuse the money and withhold millions from your favorite candidates.
Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy.
Not might. Not could. Will — if nothing changes.
The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled.
The conclusion is one sentence.
"At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand."
An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody.
Here is how you get there.
A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself.
Because the workers who were fired were also customers.
When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs — which means automating more workers — which means less spending — which means more falling demand — which means more automation.
The loop has no natural exit.
The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements.
Every single one failed in the model.
The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax — a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger.
No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it.
Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion."
Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem.
Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it.
Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place.
