I’ve lived in both states, multiple times. The taxes and free income parts are false. The rest of it is true.

The biggest difference for me, Texas never felt like a free state, as much as a police surveillance state.

The widows that suck dry whole ass frogs, and leave them like a hollow paper mâché toy for me to pick up. Those go. They get so big here, they sometimes turn a little purple from the cuticle(?) stretching.

That little papery sac in the corner of the garage is dozens to hundreds of free pest controllers waiting to hatch. Before you crush it, hear me out.

A single spider eats roughly 2,000 insects a year: flies, mosquitoes, roaches, gnats, earwigs. The eggs in that sac are the next round of that, and nature already keeps the count in check, since only a small fraction of spiderlings ever survive to adulthood. One sac is not an infestation. It's a burst of pest control about to scatter.

So if the sac is somewhere you can tolerate, leave it. If it's genuinely in the way, you still don't have to destroy it. Slide a piece of paper behind it, lift it gently, and move it to a shed, a garage corner, or a sheltered outdoor nook.

The one real caution: leave black widow and brown recluse sacs alone and call a pro if those are what you've got.

Nearly every other spider in a typical house or yard is harmless and working for you.

Of 4 states I have pensions in, none of them earn or are able to. Just stale money sitting around losing value, which we’re forced to contribute to.

They’d get a higher income in retirement than they made as a teacher, it would cost the district less, and if they quit early it’s already theirs to keep and continues to grow.

Economy and leverage.

If one reason doesn’t make sense, the other will.
The answer is economy. More bodies, more jobs, more taxes.

If you can’t breed to the level of economic growth a country wants, they will import help to do so.

What bothers me most about Karmelo Anthony’s verdict? First-degree murder means the jury feels Karmelo viciously attacked Austin, a total stranger to him, in an intentional, deliberate rage. They’re saying that he set out to purposefully kill someone he didn’t know, over a bleacher seat, in the middle of a chaperoned high school event.

Even if the jury decided Karmelo still needed to accept some level of guilt in a life being lost — a 35-year prison sentence and a first degree murder-conviction means the jury doesn’t see this as the tragic, tragic mistake between two young teens that it is.

They’re telling us Karmelo set out to end Austin’s life on purpose and with full intent.

When in reality, I think this is a regret and heartbreak Karmelo will carry for the rest of his life
