Supporting psychological wellbeing thro social enterprise. About tackling gaps in complex trauma care & building compassionate, Trauma-informed communities
This describes the journey many people share by the time they get to us. Our trauma programme is focused on the gaps; our emotional healthcheck is being co-produced with #marginalisedgroups; but we need courageous conversations at the top to change paradigms before systems
@forestyear4 We have been so so touched by the energy and effort Year 4 gave to this. What a bunch of superstars they (and the staff) are. I hope they will understand what a special thing they've done for a lovely little boy and his mum. Sooooo proud of all of them 🥰
Young people are more distressed than ever before, for clear socio/political/cultural reasons. Yet, we do nothing about this, as all this distress is apparently 'mental disorder' needing treatment. How are we STILL making these very basic category errors?

So excited to be back in Liverpool for our graduation from the @SSENorthWest Trade-up programme. It’s always an Amazing show of strength from the #SocialEnterpriseCommunity
Meet @Beyond_MCR our new @SchSocEnt#SSEFellow who is graduating today from the @LBGplc@TNLComFund#TradeUp#Socent programme. Honoured to support their journey to improve access to support for mental health within compassionate, trauma-aware, socially-connected communities.
I need to say a huge thankU to everyone who helped us https://t.co/FJcFey7Cz7 was a mammoth effort to turn things around in time-you know who you are 🙏 We’ve only moved around the corner to Ashley Rd.See u at our open day for our 3rd birthday in Jan

So this week we said Goodbye to our lovely little nest above Altrincham, to move around the corner to our new home. It has been a great space over the last 2 1/2 years which allowed us to grow and provide a safe space for the people who came to us. 1/3
But we needed somewhere bigger and more private to grow, expand our Trauma-Informed Yoga plans and provide more Staff wellbeing sessions for local businesses.
It was great to have our LifeBEAT group back in today to start making the place a home. 2/3
Will the focus on economic health at the expense of mental health actually be self-sabotaging in the medium-term? Especially in towns that are still reeling from the trauma of a pandemic. I’m no expert in economics, but this makes uncomfortable reading… https://t.co/5HAjZv3Eer
@Joanne13Harding Thanks for raising Awareness of our Rising Stronger programme Joanne. We still have 4 places left for our October 12th group which is free to Trafford residents. And there’ll be a Trauma-sensitive yoga course later this year. All funded by @TraffordCouncil winter resilience fund
Great event for those interested in support for children, young people and families. We will present on the Trauma-sensitive Trafford project -developing a local network of trauma-sensitive community providers, that are more inclusive for people with complex emotional heath needs
The next Joy Ethic show is airing tomorrow, Friday 16th Sept, on @ALLFM at 1pm and then on catchup via https://t.co/6mtjX3zXcr Amazing guests talking about their experiences of gaining health and wellbeing from being in nature, plus lots of info on great activities near you.
We're looking for associates to join our merry team of psychologists as we grow... it's a great way to reconnect with therapy again, work more flexibly, and create social impact at the same time. Feel free to get in touch for more information
I'm very proud to be presenting at @cmcafs conference: Surviving the storm, stories of courage, connection and adaptation.
I will be offering a practical session, Your Body, Your Ally to empower young people, their families and those who are supporting them through trauma.
