The number of working-age people for every senior aged 65 and older dropped from 7.7 in 1966 to 3.4 in 2022, and is projected to fall near 3. Young people now pay more tax's to support a failing system than their predecessors did and doubtful they will even collect a pension when they reach retirement age as Canada's birth rate is dramatically declining and is producing half of what is necessary to sustain Canada's pensions and healthcare costs.

To understand what's going on with China banning paper gold for retail, it's worth going back to this older video.

My sneaking suspicion is China has prepared to host their own precious metals market, the same way the US and UK have one. This entices foreign gold to flow to China because the price (in theory) should reflect actual demand, instead of a paper suppressed price.

This also serves the purpose of isolating the Chinese financial system from any potential volatility in metals pricing that could come if the derivatives market implodes.
