If the US escalates, Iran has warned it will target Saudi oil, water and other infra. I don’t think Iran will be deterred by this defence agreement. In fact, Iran has the incentive to test this Sunni alliance right away. It has been initiating attacks recently, rather than respond to US strikes.

Paying money to ensure political content reaches more people is allowed per Meta Policy.
If the political ads were in accordance with Meta Policy, then there is nothing to see here.

If the money spent on these ads were obtained illegally or through fraudulent means, then that is something for the authorities to investigate. On the other hand, if CSAM content was boosted with money, then that is something that is definitely illegal. But that is not what Rahul Shivshankar is implying here.

The crackdown on META, as I understand it, is over 2 things and none of it is related to CJP protests: Blocking of the Prime Minister's video and CSAM content on its platform.

But, if we look closely at the career trajectories in the prof's post, there is a unwritten message hiding right in plain sight. When we sort the Indian alumni from the Chinese alumni, we realize they are pursuing 2 completely different definitions of achievement.

Still for an Indian AI scientist, the calculus is unfortunately much harsher. If a researcher leaves OpenAI/NVIDIA/Google/Meta/xAI to return to India, they face an immediate, staggering drop-off in available compute infra & corporate research funding.

Patriotism is an emotional catalyst, but infra is the ultimate retention strategy & the "brain drain" will remain a logical, individual choice rather than a lack of love for the country.

Although, the bridge is being built right now with the private space sector & domestic AI initiatives, but the gap remains wide.

Have you considered the reaction of US [ and France too] if India publically announces and indigenous Engine development program ? During the time we actually get a certified engine all supplies will basically stop killing the Tejas. Not to mention other active sabotage efforts. We are not NATO allies like S. Korea or Japan. You are looking at this in binary terms. The Tejas program is not a failure by any reasonable measure. Capability development is sequential—you first master system integration and platform design, then progressively indigenise critical subsystems such as engines, radars, electronic warfare suites, sensors, and other advanced technologies.

Without the capability to design, integrate, and flight-test a modern combat aircraft, you cannot build the industrial and technological ecosystem needed for long-term self-reliance.

Instead of effectively shelving the Kaveri engine program, India should have immediately launched a follow-on Kaveri2.0 program, using it to mature critical technologies and validate subsystems at scale. That would have significantly reduced the capability gaps we face today.

The situation is still reversible, but only if the Government of India adopts an abundance mindset towards indigenous R&D—backing long-term strategic programs with sustained funding, institutional continuity, and the patience that every major aerospace power has demonstrated.

South Korea, despite having a much smaller economy than India, is now pursuing the development of its own indigenous fighter turbofan engine. Meanwhile, India—despite decades of experience with the Kaveri program and a decent industrial base—has yet to officially sanction a full-scale follow-on indigenous fighter engine program. Closing this gap requires sustained political commitment, long-term funding, and treating aero-engine development as a strategic national mission rather than a time-bound project.

If you want raw SMPL-X output from the Unreal MetaHuman Animator Markerless Motion Capture Plugin, here is the trick:

Visualizing the SMPLX mesh is enabled by setting the console variable

mh.BodyTracker.ShowDebugAssets 1

A further console variable,

mh.BodyTracker.EnableRawExport true

will extend the animation export controls to allow exporting the SMPLX pose and mesh.
