@AustPsych@australian And the role that the APS played in this - removing 4+2 and making every qualification that isn’t clinical ‘inferior’ and financially disadvantaging clients who chose non-clinical psychs. Well done.
@Dominos_AU didn’t get what we ordered form Camp Hill Domino’s but Tyler says he can’t do anything about it because it was the ‘app’s fault’ funny how it got our credit card details correct. 🤔
@SusanGColmer1@AustPsych Good grief. The APS has done more damage to the profession of psychology than the public illegal activity of some of their board members. Disgusting.
@FLMirabelli @MartinFoleyMP @GregHuntMP As a result of the false narrative of the ivory tower academics: who don’t even provide therapy: A massive workforce of trained Psychologists are restricted in delivering hands-on services #DVA#Centrelink We call for a Royal Commission @GregHuntMP @ScottMorrisonMP
"There are days where I can't afford to see a psychologist, or see a doctor, because it just means there's no food on the table" https://t.co/aAPrfNjBKI via @ABCNews
What is desperately needed is for a rethink of the medical dominance in #mentalhealth Meanwhile #suicide rates increase Consumers demonstrate they want #betteraccess These turf wars do not help hurting communities @GregHuntMP @ScottMorrisonMP
The decision of whether or not to #selfharm can change in a heartbeat. Placing bureaucratic barriers to care such as obtaining mental health care plans from a GP before accessing psychology could well make the difference. Can we reduce the red tape? @ScottMorrisonMP
Huh, I guess with so many less psychologists in the organization you can get a bit of time off. I think you’ve headed the largest defect from the @AustPsych ever? It’s a shame the APS couldn’t do what it represents itself as doing.
The @AustPsych is part of the problem. Less Psych’s = longer waitlists, more people in ED and using emergency services. Shame on the APS for their part in this! We need more mental health professionals not less access! How do I know? Because I’m at the front line! @APsychologists
@FLMirabelli @MartinFoleyMP @GregHuntMP We have been talking about this for about 20 years. Time something changed. Aps advocating for wait lists in private practice so the health budget doesn’t blow out is part of the problem. Yes I do have this in writing.
@orygen_aus@PatMcGorry The irony in this proposal is epic... Headspace routinely turns young people away who are ‘too complex’ - those experiencing suicidal ideation or self harming. Those people are then left with nowhere to turn but primary care, which McGorry and Co lobbied to cut to 10 sessions.
Coming up against some pretty spectacular spin in response to my recent blog post https://t.co/A2rAJnh6vv Apparently it's better for consumer choice and equity that Medicare support is lower for social workers and OTs delivering psychological care in 'Better Access'
LOL! :)
Any proposal that forces clients to change psychologists is not worth considering @aps. How is this good for #Mentalhealth#trauma? @ChildPrisoner https://t.co/b2C5AFuM56
@AustPsych True. Although I felt Lyn pretending like she was advocating ALL psychologists was at least trying to cover tracks. This is just plain ‘look at how we are screwing over our members and we don’t care’. Who knew the APS could get worse.
What a shame that the code of ethics applies to all but the staff of @AustPsych. Misrepresenting facts, lying and blatant failure in their fiduciary duties. It’s quite disgusting at this point. @ReformAPS@AllPsychedUpOz @KarenJDon
Profits at the heart of mental health decisions in Aust-is this the real issue? And why some psychiatrists have apparently run hate campaigns against non-drug prescribing psychologists going back to 2005? @GregHuntMP @JulieCollinsMP@Dana_Adele https://t.co/ivJb4oB2ug
Whilst we are busy looking after those who are often going through the worst time of their lives, we are being misrepresented and lied to by those who should have been representing us! #1tier.
Have you or your loved ones ever seen, or contemplated seeing, a psychologist through Medicare? Read how enraged psychologists are fighting for your right to access mental health services. @mentalhealth @psychology @APsychologists https://t.co/QVKfyzJH4J
