@AustPsych It is my personal opinion that APS leadership has not complied with the obligations of directors i.e. to avoid conflicts between the interests of the company as detailed here: https://t.co/wsCAu0r2V4
@AustPsych@FLMirabelli your most recent email promises you will take action. Please take action and amend or withdraw the APS proposal to Medicare #mbsreview
At a time when mental health of farmers is declining due to the drought, we should be increasing mental health funding, not cutting it to the bone and leaving rural and remote communities mostly unserviced by Psychs. @austpsych#mbsreview @GregHuntMP https://t.co/DxslOQ2gec
There will be only 49 Psychologists left to service the entire Northern Territory if this submission goes through. Highlights how poorly thought out this submission truly is @GregHuntMP @AustPsych#mbsreview@EqualPsychology@ReformAPS
@ShineLawyers Please contact Australian psychologists who would like to launch a case against @AustPsych (peak body for psychologists). They have recommended to Medicare that 60% of psychs not be able to treat certain disorders they are competent to treat!
In the APS' published mission of the organisation as well as the Corporations Act they say they will represent and serve the interests of paying members. However, this has not been the case, the APS has recommended one group (25%) of psychs get more sessions under Medicare
@Cairnmillar You need to share with your colleagues the APS submission to Medicare which will result over 60% of general psychologists losing access to their clients who have PTSD, bipolar, psychosis
@AustPsych@longfuse@AustPsych What do you mean by advocating for more psychologists to be recognised as competent? are you referring to helping endorsed psychologists or non-endorsed psychologists be recognised? To become recognised as competent, would you have to complete a bridging program?
@AustPsych Your brand has been damaged. There are 1000's more psychologists who are upset about this issue who may not have emailed you out of fear or reluctance. You need to repair the damage! #damagecontrol#mbsreview
@AustPsych is this seriously your suggestion? As a Paediatrician you have seriously limited my ability to refer to appropriately qualified professionals to the detriment of my patients #notpatientfocussed#mbsreview#autism#adhd#racp
With a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology and extensive professional development and 9 years of experience assessing and treating Autism @AustPsych will have the public believe I am no longer qualified to provide these services!!! #mbsreview
@FLMirabelli You should have consulted with all APS members prior to your July submission. You are being paid to represent psychologists. As psychologists we know how important the basic principles of collaboration, transparency and accountability.
