Gen. Otafiire has given his remarks as the new minister of water, he says only Frogs, Fish, tortoise, crocodiles have licences to live in wetlands, if you are none of the above start evacuating immediately 🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥
🇺🇬 “WE ARE RESETTING PARLIAMENT BACK TO THE FACTORY DEFAULT.”
Speaker Jacob Oboth Oboth says Parliament is being reset to what it was intended to be.
He says his office will no longer operate as a donation centre, adding that those seeking help should write to President Museveni, whom he described as “the chief donor of Government.”
The Speaker says committee funds will instead be strengthened to reduce MPs’ dependence on ministries, departments and agencies they are supposed to supervise.
“There is nothing demeaning as asking for kitu kidogo from those who are supposed to supervise.”
He says MPs risk being compromised when agencies appearing before Parliament give them money.
Why it matters: the Speaker is framing this as an accountability reset, saying Parliament must protect its oversight role by reducing financial dependence on the very institutions it scrutinises.
I have put to Local Government people, whom some describe as cantankerous and quarrelsome, like Balaam and Justine Nameere. Nameere is famous for quarrelling. So, go and quarrel with her. - President @KagutaMuseveni#KnowYourBudget26#NBSUpdates

Kampala's flooding challenge requires both improved drainage systems and responsible citizen action. Government and city authorities should continue investing in modern drainage channels, while all of us must stop throwing plastic bottles, polythene bags, and other waste into drainage channels. When plastics block water pathways, even heavy investments in drainage become less effective. A cleaner city and better drainage will help protect lives, property, and the environment.
Together, infrastructure development and responsible waste disposal can make Kampala a cleaner, safer, and more resilient city. @Parliament_Ug@nemaug@KCCAUG@mkainerugaba@Nrm1Online@KagutaMuseveni

This afternoon, I officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for Kidepo International Airport in Karenga District.
I reminded the wananchi that Karamoja has come a long way from the days of insecurity, cattle rustling and lawlessness. The restoration of peace has created the conditions for the Karamoja region to develop.
The airport will improve access to Kidepo Valley National Park, boost tourism, attract investors, create jobs for our young people and expand markets for local products. Already, more than 1,600 Ugandans are employed on the project.
I thank our partners from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates for recognizing the immense opportunities that exist in Uganda and Africa.
Lucy Nakyobe: 78 newly appointed Cabinet members are present & ready to take oath. One is indisposed. The four others, as guided by the President, were engaged over the weekend by myself & the Solicitor General. A brief has been submitted for further guidance from the President.
Illness is a human condition that does not discriminate by age, status, or position. Good journalism should uphold empathy, dignity, and respect, especially when reporting about the health of individuals.
Mama Janet Kataaha Museveni remains one of the most distinguished and impactful women Uganda has ever produced. Her decades of service, humility, faith, and dedication to the education and development of our nation speak louder than any headline.
As Ugandans, let us wish her good health and continued strength as she serves our country. @StateHouseUg@KagutaMuseveni@mkainerugaba@mkainerugaba
