The 18th 3D GeoInfo conference 2023 was hosted by the @TUMgis in Munich. After we organised its 2019 edition in Singapore (in collaboration with SLA), this time, our research group was represented by @BinyuLei & @fbiljecki https://t.co/Xfhe5VTlvW
It was a great honour to give a keynote at #3dgeoinfo2023 at TU Munich ๐ฉ๐ช & receive the best paper award for our work led by @BinyuLei@urbanalyticslab ๐. Many thanks to @TUMgis for the splendid organisation! I hope to see everyone again in Vigo ๐ช๐ธ in July 2024 for the next one!
The article of our PhD researcher @BinyuLei is the cover story of the latest issue of @gim_intl, a leading magazine for geospatial professionals. It features her research on uncovering the challenges of urban digital twins. Read more: https://t.co/lUuCeeL91f
@binocularity @CuspLondon Absolutely! Our lab also have several ongoing projects related to the field of urban digital twins. We are more than happy to have an online sharing. Would be wonderful to discuss it further
In this new Automation in Construction paper (Open Access: https://t.co/r8tcPQqjrK), co-authored with Patrick Janssen, @jantienstoter, and @fbiljecki, we investigate what challenges hinder the implementation of urban digital twins.
1) The research approach includes a systematic review and a 3-round Delphi expert survey. We analysed 34 academic papers to review challenges in the research landscape. In the Delphi survey, 29 international panellists with diverse backgrounds in this domain completed the survey:
Helsinki, Amsterdam and Espoo have the best open 3D city models worldwide ๐. @BinyuLei established an approach (3D City Index) to assess and benchmark 3D datasets across 47 characteristics. (1/3)
We also prepared a website to deposit the links of assessed 3D city models: https://t.co/NhCaPSckao
You are welcome to pay a virtual visit to different cities ๐!
How can we help people understand the properties and usability of 3D city models๐? With @fbiljecki and Rudi Stouffs, we propose a 4-category framework with 47 criteria and evaluate 40 city models worldwide. This new work is published online: (@ijgis - https://t.co/t2mf7v3AZu)
An example of visualising Linzโs 3D model via Azul, including attribute content of each building. The semantics of data plays an important role. In this work, dozens of datasets have been inspected for the presence of particular attributes that are key to several use cases
Check out this new short video which highlights some of the work done in our @urbanalyticslab. Glad to be featured by NUS CDE alongside representatives from the team @BinyuLei, @KoichiIto12, @winstonyym & Abraham. Thanks to CDE for the support! https://t.co/rQ9PoFwui9
