@MarkJCarney Would be great if we could get some major investments to update rail transport. Our reliance on cars is causing a lot of issues and is not sustainable for long term population growth. Provincial governments (Ontario) are not doing enough to address increased congestion.
At some point in the last ten years (it’s hard to tease out exactly when) we crossed a boundary that no one celebrated:
Most people diagnosed with cancer in the United States of America this year will not be killed by that cancer.
Yes, outcomes have improved.

Not in a 24-week clinical trial of fewer than 300 patients, evaluated by a surrogate marker.

My latest deep dive for @sciencemagazine: Botanist Steven Newmaster won scientific fame and business success with tests that purportedly showed herbal remedies didn’t contain the ingredients on their labels. Was it all based on fraud? 1/6 https://t.co/paqdrCFGuP
Hoorah! Our HTT-HAP40 manuscript is now published. Read about how we used multiple structural approaches to investigate HTT structure to further defined the relationship of HTT/HAP40 and the structural consequences of polyQ expansion on HTT-HAP40. https://t.co/Aclrwvohcu
Check out this very cool paper that was published today by @LabScribbles about the influence that HAP40 has on huntingtin protein structure! Very happy that I could contribute to this awesome piece of work 😊 https://t.co/NQiH8p2ocu

I’m a 4th year Western student and 3 time orientation leader. This entire O-Week was horrific. I helped lead a predominantly female team. There were multiple instances where myself or other sophs were screamed at, pushed, and touched inappropriately by men. 1/10
Below a cool teaser of what the microscopy setup from our latest preprint can do. Here, a Salmonella bacterium (arrow) divides on the surface of human intestinal cells. It then invades, and the epithelial cell reacts by instantly killing itself.
Did you hear vaccinated people are just as infectious as unvaccinated with Delta?
This study from Singapore shows not only do vaccines stop you getting sick with Delta, but also clear your viral load MUCH faster
Vaccines make you less infectious 💥

Scientific studies with poor methodology and inaccurate findings are exacerbating a Covid-19 misinformation crisis that is discouraging vaccination and putting lives at risk.
