This account is five months older than Bitcoin Cash. We grew up together — on opposite sides.
I ran a UASF node. I called BCH an attack. I published its obituary in 2018.
Then I kept asking questions, in public, for nine years. You can watch me be wrong, doubt, test, and switch — one timestamped receipt at a time.
The verdict of the whole decade: the protocol was never flawed. The people were.

Yes, they are going to empty all bank accounts to zero.
Then they will claim in order to get your account back, they need to use “secure” dollars that the AI can’t hack.
Then you will all use stablecoins and tell everyone how much better they are than regular dollars.
…while you HODL BTC because it’s unusable as a dollar replacement.
@RockoDoyle@BTC_broo Doubtful.
Also, you can't *own* Bitcoin. There is nothing to own. It's just a private key. You can't own a number. https://t.co/WjTS7DXG64
@skystruckcrypto@cryptochrisw Before the move to the garage I had them in a spare bedroom directly next to mine. Sometimes it would get 100+ degrees in the entire upstairs, even with fans in the windows 24/7. I had to sleep on the couch downstairs. The noise was unbearable. Did this for a year. 😂

So we agree: 32MB is cheap to run, propagation isn’t size-bound, and LN can’t onboard billions peer-to-peer. That’s the original case for small blocks gone.
What’s left:
"Sync/validation scale up"
Yes, gradually. BCH’s adaptive limit only grows with real demand, so hardware has years of warning. BTC already ships assumeUTXO for the same sync problem.
“More nodes enforce rules”
Enforce them for whom? A node whose owner can’t afford to transact is just auditing other people’s custodians. The economic nodes that matter are the ones people actually transact through.
“Changes the security model”
How? Both are fees paying miners. One gets them from a few rich users, the other from everyone. A broad base is harder to price out than a narrow one.
"LSPs and shared liquidity"
That’s re-adding the middlemen Bitcoin was built to remove. And “non-custodial” only holds if you can exit on-chain. At €100 fees, a €50 balance can’t exit, so it’s custodial in practice.
1. "Small blocks keep nodes cheap." A full 32MB block every 10 min is about 53 KB/s of bandwidth and under 2TB/yr of storage if every block is full, with pruning available. That's a cheap SSD and a home connection. Node cost is a solved problem.
2. The decentralization that matters is who can use the chain, not who can watch it. At €100 fees, billions can never hold their own coins. They end up on exchanges and custodial "L2s." You've decentralized auditing and centralized ownership.
3. "Big blocks slow propagation." Compact blocks and similar relay methods send blocks as short IDs for transactions miners already have. Block size barely affects propagation anymore.
4. "Scarce blockspace funds miners." Revenue = fee × transactions. 300k tx/day at €100 depends on that demand surviving €100 fees. Millions of tx at a penny is a broader, sturdier base.
5. "Everyday payments go on Layer 2." Lightning channels need on-chain opens and closes. At BTC's throughput it would take decades to give every person on Earth even one channel. An L2 can't onboard the world through a straw.
@Bit_Faced@MDBitcoin Roughly 0.007%.
Bitcoin base layer tops out near 7 TPS, or about 600k transactions per day under ideal conditions.
With ~8.3 billion people worldwide, that covers only 0.007% if each tried one on-chain use daily.
The campaign still on now the article on Substack and all the story incident. Do wanna be part of it. Grab a coffee and head to it here:

@RGreen622@steve603z Meanwhile, they print as much steak as they want - which also devalues the steak already in circulation. But they don’t care because they can just keep printing their way out.
@RGreen622@steve603z “Your shares grow to 2 million”
And someone else’s shrinks. It’s a competition with no winner. The government throws a steak between two dogs and eventually one eats.
Them: "Bitcoin will be worth X amount of dollars!"
Me: "Okay. What happens then?"
Them: "I'll be a millionaire!"
Me: "So you will sell?"
Them: "No. I will never sell!"
Me: "Then what will you have a million of?"
