Podcasts galore

I recorded with my friends @robinseyr and @bramk this week. Many thanks both for having me on; keep an eye out for these releases - we covered a lot of ground ranging from an assessment of the current state of play in the UK, to the different business models of treasury companies, and more esoteric musings on the nature of Bitcoin itself and the impossibility of banning it.

Team on the road

Several of the BHODL team are travelling this week for Bitcoin and Lightning-related events; more details to follow once they’re home.

Coming up, I’ll be speaking at the @BitcoinSurrey meet up on 12 May (details in thread) and would be great to see you there if you’re in the area.

This Friday I was in London at @antidote for a quick meeting, catching up with some of the @BitcoinColl team.

Tax Treatment Consultation Feedback

As part of our ongoing work to advocate for business-and-consumer-friendly treatment of Bitcoin in the UK, we have contributed to the now-closed HMRC consultation relation to the tax treatment of cryptocurrencies used in payments (namely that where Bitcoin is used as a means of payment, then this should be CGT exempt and should not be deemed a disposal for tax purposes). More details and the full consultation paper will follow in due course.
