@allunavano@scrollwrack@Ord_Snowflake@NiaFrome I've seen him tweet about China, and all those tweets were very critical of the idea that things made in China are inherently lower quality than MiUSA. So yeah, no idea what OP is rambling about.
@musingmymind Should be noted that Chicago DSA did not endorse Johnson, and Johnson went out of his way to distance himself from the org during his campaign. The man's ideology is...something. But definitely not socialist in any real sense.
@JamesSurowiecki Majority? The only poll I've ever seen said 47%, which aligns almost perfectly with the percentage of voters who always vote Republican. Those voters think anyone with a D next to their name is "too liberal".
@musingmymind@J4CKYL3GS I also kinda hate the idea of "purple" because it creates this idea that all swing states fit some definition of "moderate", which is not as widespread as aggregate data might suggest. But that's a whole other can of worms.
@musingmymind@J4CKYL3GS As late as 2018, republicans held a trifecta in ME state government, while also holding a senate seat and ME-2. Things have shifted, sure, but as long as state party power is not a given every election, then it's some shade of purple.
@mattyglesias I'm really glad you showed us evidence of Dems doing nothing in response to people complaining that they're doing nothing. Great work, Matty.
@JamesRobichaux@keithdorejel No. I think Keith is misunderstanding the argument from the original poster. They're not doing the "blue states generate more revenue than red states" thing. They're talking about how suburbs are wholly dependent on cities, yet leech tax revenue from those cities.
@suzykq5 The IC only said that the depiction of IC work and lifestyle was kinda accurate. It did not say that the stories were culturally, politically, or historically accurate. Also, if you did not notice the rampant Islamophobia, that's a sign that you don't know what Islamophobia is.
