@SandyofCthulhu Already commented, but the P-40 Warhawk was much better that it’s given credit for. Solid dependable workhorse in early to mid war, handsome too. Lots of pilots (US, UK, Aussie, Kiwi, South African, even Soviet) became aces with it

@VivaldiVril (2/2) when Japan ran into decent opposition early on - Guadalcanal, Milne Bay, Kokoda Track, etc - they tended to lose badly. By the time you get to later battles they got absolutely clobbered. IIRC at Kohima-Imphal as many died of starvation/disease as from combat
