🚨ASSAM: GOHPUR–ARUNACHAL ROAD WASHED AWAY, CONNECTIVITY CUT OFF; Flood damage to the only direct route via Daflagarh and Balijan has completely halted traffic between the two sides.
ASSAM’S DEBT HAS REACHED ₹1.62 LAKH CRORE —> AND THE INTEREST BILL ALONE IS ALARMING.
State Total Debt Stood at ₹1,61,761 Crore as of 31 March 2025.
That is a massive rise from ₹35,690 crore in 2016 roughly 4.5 TIMES in a decade.
𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗗 𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰–𝟮𝟱: ₹𝟵,𝟰𝟲𝟳.𝟳𝟱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲
That means approximately:
📌 ₹ 𝟵,𝟰𝟲𝟳.𝟳𝟱 𝗖𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿
📌 ₹ 𝟮𝟱.𝟵𝟰 𝗖𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆
📌 ₹ 𝟭.𝟬𝟴 𝗖𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿
📌 ₹ 𝟭𝟴 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗵 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲
This is INTEREST ALONE. The Principal Debt of ₹1.62 lakh crore still has to be repaid.
The govt is also continuing to spend thousands of crores on recurring welfare schemes, cash transfers, subsidies and freebies.
When recurring expenditure keeps expanding alongside rising borrowing, state must ask a serious question:
Are we creating enough productive assets, industries and jobs to generate the future revenue needed to pay for today's promises?
Because eventually, someone has to pay for the debt. And that burden ultimately falls on future generations.
𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮. 𝘿𝙚𝙗𝙩 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬. 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝘿𝙖𝙮.
State needs a serious debate about borrowing, recurring expenditure and whether public money is creating long-term economic capacity or merely financing short-term political promises.

Nepal's media is reporting that explosive devices were washed down from Tibet side into Nepal after the floods. What were these devices used for in Tibet side?
Breaking mountains for some construction? Did the Glacier break after one such detonation for tunneling or construction?
Such questions need to be asked. But we can see immediate flood of counter the following way in comments, quotes and community notes:
"This is sensitive time, let's not talk about this."
"This is Indians fear mongering."
"The scientists already said it is GLOF" - two terms - scientists and GLOF suddenly thrown around a lot.
We as Indians should ask questions. Because it is Bihar and UP too affected. Indians too are dead. No commie or their sepoy in any country should be able to guilt trip us into not asking questions or posting our thoughts.

Assam wants to shrink Kaziranga's eco-sensitive zone from 10km down to just 1km. Conservation group Aaranyak says: not so fast — the boundary should follow ecology and law, not a single round number.
Aaranyak's new position paper calls for protecting the nine wildlife corridors linking Kaziranga to the Karbi Anglong hills, safeguarding flood-escape routes for rhinos and tigers, and consulting local communities before anything is finalised.
