One thing that’s for certain from this playoff run. The Blue Jays are the biggest team in Major League Baseball and it’s not particularly close. Baseball runs through Toronto.
🚨 World Series Game 7 is the most-watched Rogers broadcast ever, with an average audience of 10.9 million viewers.
It also becomes the most-watched English-language broadcast on record in Canada outside of the 2010 Winter Olympics. 👀🇨🇦

And the Braves top of the order loves them some Patrick Corbin. Acuna 11/34, Albies 14/32(!!), Austin Riley 9/29 with 3 homers. TV might be off early tonight.
Patrick Corbins success is more a fluke than an adjustment, however he’s changed how he pitches. The sinker cutter combo is key. Sinkers running arm-side, cutters moving glove-side. Hitters have to cover much more horizontal movement than before.
However the underlying numbers are pretty bleak. xERA of 5.28, nearly a full 2 runs higher than his current era. And a SIERA of 4.40, pretty much in line with where he’s been the last 6 years or so, which haven’t been good. He also sports a career high 79.9 LOB%. A blowup is near
@JoshuaHowsam@NaeNaeTakes I think it’s hard to move around the IF on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times in the same game. He’d be better if he played 1 position for 70-80% of the time.
@Michael60647411 That’s great but I don’t really care if it’ll be accompanied by month long cold stretches after. His slumps are massive, always have been. He’s extremely inconsistent offensively. His swing sucks. If he wants to be one of the best in the sport we need to see it for 6 months not 3
@Kirkyisking Huge K rates & whiff rates, don’t have a great fit positionally, defence is average at best. He’s a fine player & provides thump, but he goes against this teams fundamentals.
@BurghFan99 Because money isn’t stopping that from happening. And nobody is to blame but cheap billionaires who refuse to spend & want to be subsidized. Penalize owners who don’t spend instead. Not the players.
This.
Small market fans think a cap will magically bring playoffs & success when in realty, the teams that don’t spend will spend to the floor, and very likely still suck. Payroll is 1/3 of the success playbook.
@JohnnyGiunta_ I’d say it’s more the 500 million dollar man who’s having his worst year by far and one of the worst hitters in the sport the last month
