@TheEconomist 1) how many consume legacy print media? Likely far fewer
2) thank you for the depressing me with the realisation I am no longer in this demographic
@Ausland30727312 @iainmartin1 It’s the Sunday Mail, the Sunday version of the Scottish Daily Record, not the Mail on Sunday, the Daily Mail stablemate. Confusing I know!
Pharmacist prescribers are excellent. In Scotland, some pharmacists can already prescribe antibiotics for various conditions.
But a health secretary encouraging people to share antibiotics is beyond irresponsible! It is simply dangerous. This whole government is dangerous!
@drphiliplee1 Isn’t this scheme available in Scotland? A point that seems to have been lost amidst the hysteria (not that I’m saying it’s necessarily a good idea)
Thérèse Coffey, the health secretary, has pushed to make antibiotics more freely available and has said that she has previously handed out her own supplies of the medicines to friends and family who were feeling unwell
Hospital admissions with COVID have peaked in the last few days. Though the 7-day average for England is up 4%.
Our R estimate is just under 1.0.
Most regions have peaked or look like they are about to. SW down 12%, though East is up by 20%.
Bed occupancy still rising, up 10%.
In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down
And cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame…

It doesn’t surprise me that a friend is using my health woes as evidence of ‘long COVID’ despite the fact I knew about the heart mutation AND was suffering symptoms before I had the rona! I suspect this is a common propaganda tool.
