Falling Slowly
I'm heartbroken to hear of the passing of Glen Hansard. His music has been the soundtrack to my life for as long as I can remember.
This was one of the very first pieces I shared here during the Covid pandemic. I remember how nervous I felt posting it. Not long afterwards, I received a message from Glen himself telling me he loved my version. Those few kind words, coming from an artist I admired so deeply, meant more than I can say. They gave me the confidence to keep sharing my music, and they played a significant part in the path that followed.
So many evenings were spent lying on the floor of my cottage beside the fire with my dog Nisha, listening to Glen's songs. I still can't quite believe he's gone.
This is Falling Slowly from the film Once. Glen and his co-star, Markéta Irglová, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008.
The world feels quieter today. My heart goes out to his family, his friends, and to everyone whose life was touched by his music. I'll be listening to his songs for the rest of my life.
They ask why I’m the only Republican to vote No on Trump’s spending bills:
He “awarded Pfizer contracts worth roughly $1.24 billion for COVID-19 vaccines for the remainder of fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2027, including hundreds of millions for pediatric doses” https://t.co/OZ1psduFJI

Chuck Schumer and the eager to ban things crowd are at war against nicotine pouches
But the pouches are SAFER than smoking.
"We shouldn't be treating something like a nicotine pouch the way we treat cigarettes," says @gbentley1 of @reason.
Here's why:
Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027.
AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.
To any future historians reading this, this era will make a lot more sense if you remember that every name is the opposite of what it really is. The antifascists are fascists, the antiracists are racists, the fact-checkers are propagandists, etc. Hopefully this has been fixed by your time.
👀This guy flew from Canada to California to vote in the 2024 Presidential elections. He said he was going to prove that a blue state doesn’t require voter ID in an American election and all they want is the vote for Kamala Harris. He ended up casting his vote for President Trump.👀
The @WaysandMeansGOP held a hearing on the impact of rising health care costs on patients and families.
We have to have serious reform of health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, and their subsidiaries to reduce the cost of healthcare.
