Combating anti-Semitism and advocating for global Jewry since 1843. Defending Israel and advancing human rights. The global voice of the Jewish community. 🎗️
B’nai B’rith has proudly launched the Daniel S. Mariaschin Institute for Leadership and Public Policy, named in honor of our retiring CEO, whose decades of leadership have shaped our global voice on human rights, diplomacy and Jewish communal advocacy.
During a gala tribute in his honor, Mariaschin reflected: “I am particularly grateful to B’nai B’rith, its officers, board members, colleagues and friends, for the special tribute on the occasion of my retirement. It has given Michal and me an opportunity to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ in person, for the privilege of working at B’nai B’rith for 38 years and leading it for 27.”
He added: “Thank you for giving a guy from a tiny Jewish community in New Hampshire the tremendous opportunity to serve…the Jewish people writ large.”

At JNS’s International Policy Summit in Jerusalem, B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin moderated a panel on deep-rooted institutional bias against Israel at the United Nations, joined by panelists @JonathanHaroun1, @ItamarPMW and @HillelNeuer.
Mariaschin recalled his mother taking him as a child to see the newly built U.N. headquarters, a place that then symbolized hope, cooperation and a belief in international order. Today, “she would be shocked.”
He argued that anti-Semitism has become “an industry” within the international system—and the U.N.’s record on Israel makes it hard to disagree.

Thank you, Honeycomb, for spotlighting B’nai B’rith Connect’s work bringing young professionals face-to-face with Holocaust survivors—a reminder of why this kind of intergenerational connection is more urgent than ever.
B’nai B’rith’s Elisabeth Krebs: “There’s a lot of Holocaust denial out there. My hope was these students who heard her story would be equipped in conversations to say, ‘well, you’re wrong, because I heard this person directly tell me their story.’”

We applaud the U.S. House Education and Workforce Committee for passing three bills that would combat anti-Semitism in education.
The No Anti-Semitism in Education Act, the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act, and the Student Protection and University Accountability Act would each strengthen protections for Jewish students and counter anti-Semitism on U.S. school and university campuses.
We call on the full House to approve all three bills. https://t.co/PQMiAXtRgs

#DYK We launched the first Jewish public library in the United States!
In 1852 B’nai B’rith opened the Maimonides Library in New York City—the first public building constructed in New York by Jews for secular purposes.
B’nai B’rith Director of Latin American Affairs Eduardo Kohn was in Panama this week for the Organization of American States’ (@OAS_official) 56th General Assembly, as the OAS faces existential challenges amid a worldwide struggle for multilateralism.
Our staff held meetings with foreign ministers and ambassadors of Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Argentina, as well as Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Martínez Acha.
During the Assembly, the OAS unanimously voted to officially recognize Jan. 27 as the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.

Glad to meet with Ambassador of Costa Rica to the OAS Alejandra Solano on the sidelines of the 56th OAS General Assembly in Panama.
We thanked Ambassador Solano for her important presentation at the GA. Costa Rica strongly condemned Hamas and Hezbollah’s use of Nicaraguan territory under Daniel Ortega’s dictatorship—a clear and present danger to the entire region.

As mayor of the city with the largest Jewish population outside Israel, millions of Jewish New Yorkers expect @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani to protect them at a time of surging anti-Semitism.
But he just can’t pass up an opportunity to demonize Israel and attack the Jewish community.
His accusation that @AIPAC—or any mainstream pro-Israel advocacy—is a “monster” moving “dark money” invokes blatant anti-Semitic tropes and the age-old conspiracy of Jewish influence over centers of power.
We can read between the lines. When political leaders like Mamdani employ these classic dog-whistles, it serves only one purpose: to mask anti-Semitism under the guise of policy critique, using words like “dark” to instill fear and incite hostility toward Jewish people.
The only monster here is a public official who uses his massive platform to vilify a vulnerable community. https://t.co/YpCvF099o9
We denounce the @UN’s anti-Israel “Commission of Inquiry” (COI) for once again outrageously accusing Israel of “genocide” in an unofficial “conference paper” on children in Gaza.
This finding is not a legal or factual one, but a political assault perpetrated by an “investigative mechanism” intended to craft false narratives vilifying Israelis in perpetuity.
