@CartoonsHateHer In my pediatric clinic I try to keep things neutral when I don't know because there are enough lesbians having babies that more than once I've found myself, for example, handing a woman a form identified as for the "father".
@_TomHoward@jeremykauffman Why do you think the medical community "would rather not ask questions"?
SIDS is diagnosed when you've already asked the relevant questions and performed the relevant exams and haven't found a certain cause.
@CartoonsHateHer When my wife and I moved I offered the mover some coffee or a glass of water, and my wife told me we should only offer drinks in a sealed bottle, so that our guest can be assured we are not trying to poison them.
Why would our mover think we were trying to poison him?
@iamharaldur Chesapeake by James Michener
It's a long work of historical fiction, it takes place over a few hundred years of time.
It follows several different fictional families who live on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay.
@CartoonsHateHer This was a late season joke on 30 Rock, where a stay at home mom argues with a working parent on a mommy blog over who has it worse, and they agree to fight in a park, only to find the working parent she was arguing with was her husband
@jewstein3000 I think this is a misunderstanding on your part.
Disabled people aren't actually being compared at all.
What's being compared is behavior towards disabled people, but disabled people aren't being compared in this example.
@SynUpGirl@LemonySwirls@CatholicAwesome Radiation wouldn't't work for it because it doesn't do a good job picking up soft tissue
I use ultrasound when finding veins for IVs, it looks very different from x-rays.
Doctors protect themselves from radiation when they use it for imagining, but not from ultrasound
@cliffordmain69 @GdhdPcklInspctr @MOA_Official1@NoTrueScotist I don't think brain activity means conscious sensation, because you still need your brain when you're unconscious.
I just know that if your blood pressure drops fast enough you become unconscious right away.
@petalsgrace @GdhdPcklInspctr @MOA_Official1@NoTrueScotist I've heard that, but I doubt it, because if you lose blood pressure to the brain you lose consciousness immediately, like if you already have low blood pressure and stand up too quickly
@cliffordmain69 @GdhdPcklInspctr @MOA_Official1@NoTrueScotist What studies?
I suspect beheading would leave you unconscious almost immediately because of the loss of blood pressure.
If your blood pressure is low enough you can faint immediately just by standing up too fast, so decapitation probably knocks you out quick.
