This is literally the first time checking Twitter in over 5 months. I am surprised—and disappointed—that there still are people here.
Change is hard, I guess.

@jrssnet@2_5adm1ns Thank you. Your commentary had spooked me on using Btrfs for anything.
My use case is to use Btrfs on a single laptop drive instead of ext4. I am attracted to the feature of layered snapshots as recovery for things like upgrade fails.
My backups are done using Restic.
@2_5adm1ns@jrssnet re: show 126
Jim, what are your thoughts on using Btrfs on a single drive system? I have listened to and read your unhappiness with how Brtfs handles multiple disk configurations, but it seems to provide useful features like snapshots etc. for this use case.
A remarkable graphic
Frontover fatalities (where drivers accidentally run over small children) have increased 3,800% in the last 30 years in the US
Whatever could be causing this?
@albinstigo@briankeating The magic of time travel doesn't ensure that everything—or anything—would work out the same way. Think butterfly effect.
I feel completely comfortable not doing BS gambling. As for investments, I use primarily index funds which would include Apple and Tesla, for good and bad.
@balister@RadioFreeTom Am I the only "experienced" person who is capable of learning new things? I have absolutely no problem with the auto start feature.
I like that I am not wasting fuel at the interminable traffic signals where I live and it's great that I am spewing less crap while sitting there.
@ChuckMcManis That would be fine—a new word without introduction—if it was in practice. With Duolingo, everything is a test. Second, on my third point, I knew the—or a—correct translation and the system failed me because they wanted a yet-to-be-introduced synonym.
@duolingo
I give up.
1) The app repeatedly fails me on pronunciation, even after careful practice.
2) The app throws words at you without introduction.
