#PlasticsTreaty#INC3
Been encouraging local school children to compress their soft plastic into what I call #BreadBagBlock and take to collection point at local supermarket. "We All Agree Keep Plastic Out of the Sea" is one of our slogans.
🚨 BREAKING: Norway BANS the use of AI in primary school, with its Prime Minister adding that children should focus on learning to write, read, and do math.
They have my full support.
This is not 2004 anymore. We are past the social media hype and seem to have learned the lesson.
Technology should not interfere with the learning process or with children's intellectual and emotional development.
Some steps should not be skipped, regardless of the shiny new tech available. AI can wait until they are older.
Kudos to Norway! Which country do you think will be next?
I'll keep you posted!

It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7

As May comes to a close Pope Leo XIV invites us to join him in praying the Rosary for Peace, tomorrow evening 6 pm UK time.

Pope Leo XIV concludes his first encyclical Magnifica Humanitas with a powerful reflection on Mary's song of hope, the Magnificat.
We join the Holy Father in entrusting our commitment to help build a better world to "to the Mother of Christ, to the Woman of the Magnificat."
A Japanese refiner has made petrol-like fuel using CO2 from air and hydrogen from water, and it can run in existing engines without changes. That could matter for fuel-importing countries if costs come down 🧵
Amsterdam has been doing this for over 100 years, and it's still one of the best ideas in education.
The city runs a school garden program where primary school kids in participating schools each get their own plot as part of the curriculum.
They sow seeds, weed it, water it, and harvest it themselves across a full growing season. One garden site near the center of the city serves around 15 schools. The program started in 1918 and never stopped.
Kids who grow a carrot from seed don't forget where food comes from. They don't forget what soil is, or what a bee is doing, or why rain matters.
Does your kid's school do this?
On Ascension, let us recall that sometimes, “the ends of the earth” are not so far away. Jayne Ragasa-Mondoy reflects on the #Ascension and accompaniment: https://t.co/5bDh79yXTx.
2.4 million actions taken. Representing the hope and the outrage from people all across the UK.
6 months on since the so-called Gaza ‘ceasefire’ agreement, we are standing together, once again, to say - ENOUGH.
International law should not be optional.

"If we approach nature and the environment without this openness to awe and wonder, if we no longer speak the language of fraternity and beauty in our relationship with the world, our attitude will be that of masters..." -- Pope Francis

As violence continues across the Middle East, families are living in fear and uncertainty. Homes and communities have been destroyed, forcing many to flee.
We join Pope Leo in praying for peace and for all those whose lives have been affected by the conflict.
Reports from #Iran and across the entire #MiddleEast continue to cause deep dismay and raise the fear that the conflict will expand, and that other countries in the region, including dear Lebanon, may once again sink into instability. Let us #PrayTogether for the roar of bombs to cease, weapons to fall silent, and space to open for dialogue, in which people's voices may be heard.
On #WorldWildlifeDay, the message is clear: no forests, no wildlife.
🇧🇩 Kuakata’s ‘dead forest’ in Kuakata, once lush and green, now stands as a stark reminder of pollution and repeated natural disasters. When forests decline, biodiversity declines with them.
Protecting nature isn’t the job of authorities alone. It’s our shared civic duty.
