@elonmusk Until the Smith Mundt Act is reinstated the media will continue to program fantasy into people. If the truth seekers are to win this intellectual battle we must help the media skeptics become truth seekers. Attempting to de-program media believers is a waste of time.
@Lawton_Braves Mike, you are correct and your post reminded me of the Catholics and Protestants fighting each other for years in Ireland. They are currently fighting together against the Globalist driven "migration" into their country.
Good morning Ray!
On the Fender issue I posit the following:
With the German court decision (enforceable in all EU countries) this is Fenders attempt to muscle manufacturers who sell in the EU (everyone) to pay a license fee for their 's' body style guitars or be shut out of the EU.
I suspect they will attempt to get a fee globally by resurrecting and re-hearing the 2009 ruling. Fender will likely fail and be pushed into clipping coupons in the EU.
In the EU, Fenders action will make competitors guitars more expensive VS Fender's or unless competitors absorb the license fee in their costs and live with lower margins. Thats a pretty big stick to beat competitors with.
This might precipitate fender acquisitions of other companies or it might improve the Fender balance sheet enough for SERVCO to sell Fender.
If you are Fender and you are losing your competitive edge, why not sit back and steal a piece of each "better built guitar" other manufacturers sell in the EU?
If I were CEO of a smaller mfg or if I was Paul Reed Smith, I would counter sue Fender in Germany and attempt to get the ruling modified or wiped out.
Personally, I never wanted a Silversky (Ive got 3 fenders) but I think I want one now.
@bot010317@GuitarWorld Yep. It appears they donโt care about the backlash. Classic investor behavior. If my speculation is correct and this strategy fails, they will blame management and fire the CEO because they canโt blame themselves. Itโs not in their DNA.
@WillieRStucker@GuitarWorld Thanks. Time will reveal the intent of this but Fender will take a beating until the reveal. Btw, if your band is ever in Norcal let me know. Id love to see your show ๐ธ(oh no! A strat emoji! Am I violating German law!)
That looks like dried on fretboard oil. This results when on oils the fretboard but does not wipe off the excess oil. Once the oil dries you get a layer of dried oil that wears down like your picture. My recommendation would be to put the same fretboard oil you use on the fretboard to soften the dried oil and then rub out all of the dried on oil patches (while wet) with 00000 steel wool. Rub off ALL of the oil and check it and repeat. Once clean, re oil it and wipe off ALL of the oil. That should get you back to a good place.
