🚨BREAKING: For the first time in history, Congress just created a constitutional showdown for a court battle to constrain presidential warmaking.
Today's Senate vote appears to empower lawmakers to go to court to block Trump's war & create a new precedent.
This is a HUGE deal.
@dryychop I don't get it - they can't stand Mamdani but celebrate having him in their (barely staged) apartment and invite others to come meet him? Is this, like, rape culture type shit?
Boots Riley’s remarkably easy confidence and visual flair in “I Love Boosters” is a tonic in an era of boring CGI slop.
He’s one of the most compelling filmmakers working today. https://t.co/RHubVugOap
@CTropes I gotta put Rio Morales into the mix. All her iterations are great, but Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite. The scene when she discovers what her son can do, in the middle of Venom destroying a hospital, chokes me up every time I even think of it.
As morally repugnant as people find Trump, he's simply an unfiltered representation of a monstrous system. Liberals and Dems are dead wrong when they insist Trump is the entire problem and Biden/Harris are good people. They're war criminals too.
@ProudSocialist Industrial robots already exist that can accomplish amazing things, but they look like machines; their form follows their function. Making them *look* like humans is basically a gigantic middle finger to working class people.
@briebriejoy@piperocktheory I got my kids their own MP3 player that looks and functions like an old ipod (with a screen). BT connectivity for headphones, USB-C connection for transferring files. One kid uses it for music, the other for audiobooks. They're like sixty bucks each.
Yesterday, I posted this Substack. Today, we learn that my good pal and amazing artist, Adam Hughes, is being treated for Stage 3 colon cancer.
Please, please, please... read this, and then go and get yourself tested.

A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.
For more than an hour, workers in the facility were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.
One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to The Western Edge.

Our estimates are $80,000 in repairs for our flooded house (not replacing anything, just repairs). We’re trying to raise half of that if you’re in a position to help my wife and I.

My wife and I have launched a GoFundMe to address our flood damaged house and the repairs beyond what insurance will cover. Don't feel obligated but we're grateful for any help.
