*I* think Trump is a unique threat. Apparently a lot of you motherfuckers don’t and just thought it was some bomb ass shit to say during a campaign
And if you people are right well then maybe “the lesson” is as simple as “don’t base the campaign on something you don’t believe.”
As Donald Trump readies to return to the Oval Office, U.S. retailers that depend on foreign suppliers are prepared to pass along the cost of his proposed import tariffs to consumers, potentially leading to higher prices for a range of products. https://t.co/dyB72RLgEm
Tariffs aren't technically "inflationary," but they DO raise the price of tariffed products (both imported AND domestic). And it will never stop being amazing to me that tariff-loving Trump owes much of his victory last night to Americans upset about high prices. 🤷
People used to say "The internet is not real life. Get off social media and go talk to real people".
Donald Trump's reelection may have proven the opposite - the internet is more real than real life.

Roughly *67%* of voters rated the economy as "not so good/poor," per Washington Post exit polls
A shockingly poor number amid a hot labor market, booming stocks, much lower inflation, growing GDP
But widespread voter dissatisfaction w/ the economy been clear for years
Sorry kids, you have to do your own bedtime tonight. I have to stay glued to the TV to see if our country picked an insurrectionist psychopath cult leader or an extremely qualified woman.
The impact of gerrymandering:
A state where 57 percent of voters want to eliminate government interference with abortion has a Legislature that imposed a near-total ban on abortion.
Five more polling places in DeKalb County have received bomb threats. Voting has been suspended at those precincts. This is a deliberate attempt to prevent Americans from casting ballots. FBI has linked today’s previous threats to Russians. Official release below
@ATLNewsFirst
It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today:
– Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.
– Don’t share things before checking your sources.
– Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot.
What an idiot. Republicans over performed Dems in early voting for decades. Early voting programs were the crown jewels of RNC, NRSC, NRCC (you can have someone google those for you, Elon.)
Last cycle, idiot child Trump told Rs not to vote early. The Rs responded on cue.
Prior to 2020, there were many elections in which Republicans led early voting and lost. In Pa, it routinely happened given the collar county R political machines that no longer exist. In fact it happened in every presidential election between 1988 and 2016. Rs lead in Pa early voting and lost.
On one level, it’s amusing to see Elon Musk displaying a 7th grade understanding of American politics. But it’s dangerous.
He and Trump are laying the groundwork to claim fraud when Trump loses. It won’t work but could tear America a little further apart. Which is one of the goals they share with Russia.
If Trump wins, Harris supporters must accept his victory peacefully and without rancor. And if Harris wins, Harris supporters must be understanding about Trump supporters’ violence and rioting.
Timing wise, Harris team expecting:
- Tues pm: Near complete results from GA/NC/MI/VA/FL/OH/CO; partial PA/WI/AZ
- Weds am: most WI; addl PA/MI
- Later: addl PA/AZ/NV + more
Could take days, per senior officials, but that's "not a sign of fraud, it's just the way it works"
Call me crazy but maybe decrying that gov't overreach killed a squirrel while ignoring women killed by abortion bans isn't a terrific move for your double digit gender gap
https://t.co/l0zOsXnpnG
Really is a tough call.
On one hand - every Nobel prize winning economist is adamantly stating that Harris has a significantly better economic plan
But on the other hand - the dumbest people I’ve ever interacted with say Trump is a good businessman
Quite the dilemma
