The massacres committed against the Tutsi in the former Butare prefecture are a demonstration, if further proof was even needed, that the 1994 genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in Rwanda was meticulously planned by the authorities.

Therefore, unlike the popular belief in international media, this genocide was not "triggered" by the shot down of any plane or committed out of any "popular anger". The 6 April attack, against the plane of a President seemingly weakened by international pressure, was nothing else than a planned pretext (the missiles that hit the plane were fired from the main barracks of Habyarimana's own army) used by the regime's hardcore extemists to kick-off a preplanned genocide.

The extermination of the Tutsi in Butare, which started around 19 April 1994, was only made possible when the whole genocidal government, led by President Théodore Sindikubwabo and Prime Minister Jean Kambanda (both native of Butare), travelled, together with their army and militia, to Butare, a prefecture that had until then resisted to endorse the final solution.

The Government dismissed the local Prefect (Governor), Jean-Baptiste Habyarimana nicknamed "Sacré" (translated as sacred/holy, like human life), the only Tutsi prefect in the country. He was arrested, transferred to Murambi, Gitarama, which was the temporary seat of the genocidal Government, where he was killed.

In Butare, President Sindikubwabo also summoned the 20 "bourgmestres" (mayors) of the prefecture, urging them to start the killings. The President also went to a local commune (district) in Butare where he publicly called, live on national radio, "to start 'working' and, if need be, get rid of the 'I-don't-care' people", referring to the Hutu who had refused to kill Tutsi.

In this context, Jean-Baptiste Habyarimana was obviously not killed alone. His family was in fact completely wiped out. His wife, Joséphine, and his two little angels (all pictured) were also killed during the genocide.

The lie that the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi was "spontaneous" must be buried once and for all.

The Genocide was planned, discussed, financed, and rehearsed years in advance by the inner circle of Habyarimana’s regime.

As early as October 1990, right after what many dismissively call the "RPF invasion" (in reality, a liberation struggle against a racist and exclusionary regime); senior officials were already calmly discussing the extermination of Tutsi.

At a meeting in Gisenyi chaired by Théoneste Bagosora, witnesses testified that top figures of the regime openly spoke of "undoing the enemy" by eliminating Tutsi civilians.

Among those present were:

Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza
Joseph Nzirorera
Protais Zigiranyirazo
Aloys Ntabakuze
Anatole Nsengiyumva

This was the state.

Witnesses recount that Aloys Ntabakuze personally separated civilians using identity cards. Hutu on one side, Tutsi on the other, before massacring the Tutsi with grenades. This was genocide in rehearsal.

At the same time, the regime was stockpiling weapons:

Tens of thousands of rifles and grenades imported from South Africa.

Mortars and ammunition contracted from Egypt just weeks before April 1994.

Financial pipelines moving millions through international banks to sustain the war machine.

All of this while receiving over $170 million in international aid.

Aid that coexisted with preparations for extermination.

LES PROPOS DE HAINE anti-tutsi de Patrick MUYAYA, UNE EVIDENCE DE SES PROPRES MOTS

@PatrickMuyaya et ses acolytes nient que cet idéologue invétéré du régime Tshisekédi n'a jamais tenu de propos anti-tutsi que j'ai relevés dans ma communication du 7 avril 2026 lors de la 32ème commémoration du génocide commis contre les Tutsi en 1994, préparé depuis 1990. Leur mémoire est trop courte. Le 4 juillet 2024, sur Télé 50, lors d’une émission phare au micro du journaliste Jean Marie Kassamba, le remuant @PatrickMuyaya , Ministre congolais de la communication tenait des propos de haine anti-tutsi sans précédent qui semblent apparemment le gêner, et que lui et ses fanatiques tentent déséspérement de falsifier après, au départ avoir nié qu'il les a tenus. Or, les faits sont tétus.

Tenez. Ce 4 juillet 2024, Bwana Muyaya expliquait les mobiles de la visite de la première ministre à Bukavu et à Goma en tenant des propos scandaleux ci-après: « C’est une guerre que nous vivons depuis 30 ans. Ici nous sommes à Bukavu, on est dans une partie du pays où la femme a été particulièrement victime des atrocités des Tutsi. Tous les Congolais, cette guerre, c’est la leur. On a un front militaire, on a un front politique, on a un front diplomatique, on a un front économique, on a un front médiatique, on a un front judiciaire. Ça nous permettra de résoudre un problème qui dure depuis 30 ans. »

Mr @PatrickMuyaya:

1) L'expression haineuse, stigmatisante intitulée "les atrocités des Tutsi" relève de vos propres mots. Je les ai repris tel quel, sans rien ajouter ni retrancher. Les mots tuent. Oui, ils tuent. Le génocide commence toujours par des mots de haine comme les vôtres et ceux de vos compatriotes idéologisés comme ceux du général major Sylvain Ekenge. Vos propos terrifiants sur Télé 50 visant le groupe Tutsi relèvent ni plus ni moins de l’incitation publique et directe à la haine ethnique, à l’appel à la stigmatisation ethnique, point de départ du génocide.

2) Par ailleurs, force est de constater que l’habitude de stigmatisation des Tutsi n’est pas une affaire limitée à votre seule personne. C’est une récurrence chez plusieurs responsables congolais à l’instar de votre prédécesseur, Abdoulaye Yerodia Ndombasi, de tiste mémoire, qui a qualifié publiquement les Tutsi de « vermines» à « exterminer ». La Belgique avait, sans résultat, émis un mandat d’arrêt international contre lui. La RDC l'a protégé, assurant par là son choix d'impunité comme il le fait toujours pour les FDLR. Or, ne vous en déplaise, l'engagement en faveur des génocidaires et des négationnistes est votre choix le plus intime comme vous le démontrez en soutenant le négationniste franco-camérounais Charles Onana avec vos mots: "le procès d'Onana est un peu le vôtre". Voilà. Le procès d'un accusé du négationnisme du génocide des Tutsi est le vôtre. Votre choix n'est pas individuel, il est étatique. De même, l'appel à la haine ethnique, au génocide, que vous avez fait ouvertement sur Télé 50 est votre choix individuel et politique. Pourquoi alors en vouloir à ceux qui vous disent que ce sanglant choix est un scandale, un crime, une horreur condamnable?

3) Le propagandiste Yerodia Ndombasi est mort sans jugement, laissant derrière lui le cachet éternel de tueur par les mots. @PatrickMuyaya vous épousez le même enfermement dans la haine. En choisissant de militer dans le soutien aux génocidaires réunis au sein des FDLR, c'est une cruelle complicité qui vous aveugle au point de ne rien apprendre du sort des resonsables des médias de la haine entre 1990 et 1994 au Rwanda. Avez-vous oublié les condamnations par le Tribunal pénal international pour le Rwanda des journalistes et patrons de la RTLM et de Kangura, pour incitation publique et directe à commettre le génocide ? Ayez l’audace de lire les jugements de condamnation pour appel au génocide retenus contre des idéologues comme Ferdinand Nahimana, Jean Bosco Barayagwiza et Hassan Ngeze. Méditez à fond les plaidoyers de culpabilité de Joseph Serugendo et Georges Henri Yvon Ruggiu, vous comprendrez alors la gravité criminelle des mots. Vous saisirez que la tricherie des faits historiques à laquelle vous excellez ne tient pas debout face à l’ampleur d’un génocide.

In fine, @PatrickMuyaya ayez le courage de prononcer quelques simples mots qui conviennent en pareils cas : PARDON chers internautes, moi, Patrick Muyaya, j’ai déconné, je confesse, je m'incline devant l'erreur, je retire mes mensonges. Trop c'est trop. c'est cela qui vous conviendrait. Uniquement.
