There is no military objective that justifies the wholesale destruction of a society's infrastructure or the deliberate infliction of suffering on civilian populations.

In Gaza, Israel treated almost everything as a military target, inflicting general misery so as to weaken Hamas. I fear that the US and Israel might be attempting something similar in Iran, targeting civilian infrastructure like water supply in a way I find unconscionable.
The world, Europe, and Spain have faced this critical moment before. In 2003, a few irresponsible leaders dragged us into an illegal war in the Middle East that brought nothing but insecurity and pain.
Our response then must be our response now:
NO to violations of international law.
NO to the illusion that we can solve the world’s problems with bombs.
NO to repeating the mistakes of the past.
NO TO WAR.

"I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation. Failing to do so risks a wider regional conflict with grave consequences for civilians and regional stability. I strongly encourage all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table." - @antonioguterres
There is no such thing as a "preventive" justification for war. Another country can be attacked only with UN Security Council authorization or as self-defense in the face of an actual or imminent attack, not to prevent so articulated threat in the future. https://t.co/KWN91koION
Yes, I remember all the triumphalism over the capture / deaths of Saddam Hussein, Colonel Gaddafi, bin Laden, Mullah Omar.
And the Iraqi people, the Libyan people, and the Afghan people all lived happily ever after.
Tomorrow marks 4 years of the full-scale invasion of #Ukraine.

Israel has killed at least 342 Palestinians since the fictitious "ceasefire" was signed.
Describing these massacres as "testing the ceasefire" is straightforward racism.
If this was describing 24 Israelis killed in a Hamas attack, this language would never be used.
"If anyone is still under the impression that there are safe places in #Ukraine, the air attack sirens that go off anywhere at any time will tell you that the opposite is true.
Relentless Russian missile and drone strikes kill and injure civilians every week." - @unocha
