In rural America, the nearest specialist can be hundreds of miles away. That is one reason where you live can determine how long you live.
We can do better.
Through ARPA-H’s PARADIGM program, researchers at the @UMich are developing VIGIL, AI guidance designed for mobile care delivery platforms that bring hospital level care directly to rural communities.
For rural Americans, this means fewer long drives, earlier diagnoses, and faster access to high quality care.
ARPA-H is building a future where first-class healthcare is available to all Americans, and location no longer determines health outcomes.

Where you live should not determine the level of care you receive.
Today, too many Americans living in rural areas face long drives, provider shortages, delayed treatment, and limited access to critical healthcare services. For many patients, these hurdles can result in going without care altogether.
ARPA-H’s PARADIGM program is working to change that by bringing hospital level care directly to the communities that need it most.
Last week, @missionmobileNC debuted its ARPA-H funded healthcare delivery platform prototype, MARCUS. Program Manager Bon Ku, MD, and team saw firsthand how its modular design can deliver a wide range of healthcare services to patients, even in some of the most remote parts of America.
This is the future of rural healthcare. It is mobile, flexible, and closer to patients.

Back to international reporting from the edge of Sudan’s catastrophic war.
Staggered by the size of this disaster. Humanitarians say more than 21 million people, 41 percent of Sudan’s population need food…that in some areas, including Darfur, the desperation is so acute, children are already dying from hunger.
We document the stories of survivors who’ve fled for their lives and also compassion tonight, in an interview with @IAmAmnaNawaz on PBS @NewsHour in 6pm ET hour.
At PARADIGM Demo Day, attendees experienced our performers’ work firsthand!
Program Manager @BonKu and @ARPA_HDirector were on hand to hype up our program that asks, what if we could deliver advanced hospital-level care to every rural county in America? https://t.co/kJTyX3kyz8

3. Health Design Thinking https://t.co/EfCWG1iuDB I often have someone in medicine say, "I love design, but I don't know how it fits into medicine." If thats you, this would will help a lot. It's full of great examples where design can elevate processes, products and delivery.
