@TheYisusOne One more batch, why not:
5.) Dwebble/Crustle outside of their shells
6.) Scraggy and Scrafty actually stretching their pants about
7.) Darmanitan actually transitioning between its Zen Modes
8.) Pretty much anything you could think of with Cofagrigus (funny SMT Mot recreation?)
@TheYisusOne Shit, my bad. Here's a lightning round of suggestions then:
1.) Hitmonlee actually stretching its limbs
2.) Portraying the Beldum line combining to evolve and/or mega-evolve
3.) A recreation of any number of the Regis' mannerisms from the Lucario movie
4.) Deoxys changing forms
@Reed_QT a.) A great remix of TTYD
b.) The difficulty/QoL ROM hack that Paper Mario challenge-runners love
c.) Proof that Mario RPG difficulty is so much more satisfying when changes up enemy movesets instead of just leaving it at "thing from before but HP/ATK is bigger"
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door opened up on Nintendo GameCube in Japan 20 years ago today!
Have you checked out the Nintendo Switch version of this classic Mario adventure yet?
@Gboogie32P40785 @PikHacker Multiple 100% runs of the game later, I agree it's not terrible to the degree some make it out to be. That said, I do find it enough of a pacing-issue that I don't blame them for despising it. It's a unique flavor of patience-testing the series otherwise avoids, after all.
@Gboogie32P40785 @PikHacker As opposed to whether or not it's a problem to begin with, I'd like to hear your take on the net-positive the hour of grinding purples in Subterranean Complex provides for a 100% playthrough. If that hour was shortened somehow, would Pikmin 2 be a worse game for it? If so, why?
@Reed_QT Emergency Guard was introduced in Paper Jam as a way to help manage 3 characters at once and later added into the two 3DS remakes. I don't think I ever used it outside of the Dry Bowser fight in Paper Jam.
Nice to see that it's back tho
@PJiggles_ In this example, Yoshi can Ground Pound to clip/flip the Shady Parakoopa and deal 2 HP damage, while Mario finishes it with 6-power Earth Tremor. Without ATK buffs or partner upgrades, Mario's guaranteed to not get attacked in this fight. Huge applications for any challenge-runs!
@PJiggles_ Power Bounce/Multibonk/Ground Pound got buffs in the remake! Originally, flying shell enemies' DEF don't drop to 0 until they hit the ground after the attack ends. In the remake, their DEF updates after the first 2 hits, meaning multi-jumps clip wings, flip shells AND damage now!
