@RonFilipkowski It was a pretty poor design of the constitution that caused this mess, but to be fair, it isn't like they had many other examples to learn from. They really should have had a separation of executive powers.
@ElissaSlotkin Just say you on @BulwarkOnline. How the hell do you Trump proof America without an amendment? SCOTUS gave him free reign to fire good faith actors and appoint sycophants and made it impossible to hold him accountable. We need a separation of executive powers
@tick077760845@KyleKulinski@curaffairs They think Russia has a right to commit genocide because of NATO expansion. America and Israel are the only country that are truly evil and can't be reasoned with. Any evil done by any other country is just a rational result of American aggression.
@ABrownLamp@LTGetsPolitical Yeah, even if every bad thing Hasan said was taken out of context (which it mostly isn't), a normie voter in a close race seeing an ad with Hasan campaigning with AES and saying "America Deserved 911" isn't going to see the nuance. Talk to @BoxLoner.
@LTGetsPolitical Luke, Democrats aren't distancing themselves from Hasan because he doesn't like Israel. They are distances themselves because he is an actually political liability who actually does support terrorism. Please have a conversation with @BoxLoner
@McFaul They know corruption if bad, but they don't really understand why it is bad. They also think all politicians are generally corrupt and don't have a sense of scale.
@rossbsherman@EricBoehm87@uniteamerica (2/2) Also, each candidate should be allowed to list top 3 endorsements from advocacy groups or parties by their name on the ballot.
@rossbsherman@EricBoehm87@uniteamerica (1/2) Any non partisan top X primary needs to use approval voting to stop vote splitting. Without it, you force advocacy groups to give dishonest evaluations/endorsements for voters because they can only bet one candidate.
@leedrutman I'm skeptical that Americans can handle ranking 50 candidates. Open top 2 primaries are fine if they 1) use approval voting to stop vote splitting, and 2) allow candidates to list at least 3 endorsements by their name from advocacy groups or parties to give voters information.
@coghill_andrew@RobSandIA A Condorcet version of rank choice voting would be the gold standard, that isn't what is being promoted by RCV advocates. The order of elimination is very important in standard RCV and that is determined by vote splitting. The Best candidate can be eliminated early.
@RobSandIA I like that you support approval voting over IRV, but I think you have your system backwards. It should be an approval voting top two primary, and then a runoff between the two most approved candidates. Also, you should allow candidates to list top 3 endorsements on the ballot.
@coghill_andrew@RobSandIA He has a better solution - approval voting. With "rank choice voting" it isn't safe to put your favorite first. You have to guess who is electable in the final round.
