halfway through this, taylor says "sure, if you're scrolling twitter all day that's not healthy" and like girl THAT'S THE POINT. that's what everyone is doing on their phones! constantly scrolling algorithmic content in a UX designed to trigger dopamine responses!
@SayWhatSugar Lol I can't believe I watched the whole thing and only the notice of its cancelation could have reminded me that it exists. MARCIA GAY HARDEN is in it, and it does not deserve her.
@SayWhatSugar I've heard it's good, but I can't get over the audacity of calling a show "Normal People" and casting two leads who look like AI generated images. I think either of those leads could murder my family in front of me and I wouldnt be able to pick them out of a lineup
@SayWhatSugar This is why we have dozens of Netflix romcoms where the male lead is some boringly symmetrical blond charisma vacuum, whose face is so generic I doubt it could unlock his own iPhone.
@SayWhatSugar I'm of the "always glad to see Eva turn up in something!" persuasion, and the fact that Hollywood could never figure out what to do with her speaks more of HW than it does of her.
@SayWhatSugar She was also loved in supporting action heroine roles, but that didn't lead to the opportunities for the lead action roles afforded to Charlize or Angelina or ScarJo.
The plan: spend enough of HBO's money meticulously recreating the Alligator Lounge in a warehouse in Oregon so that its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, has no choice but to stop making superhero movies forever, thus saving American cinema
@SayWhatSugar I'm glad Melanie Lynskey was nominated, though if I had only one acting nomination to give YJ, it would be Ella Purnell for supporting actress.
